The genius of “The Haunting of Hill House” is that by the end of the series you’re not afraid of the ghosts or the haunting. By the end you’re just sad for the people who are stuck in that house, conflicted about the people who chose to stay and miraculously joyful about the people who walked away and chose to do better and be happy.
