What no one wants to hear about the L.O.A.
Law of Attraction advocates will tell you that all you need to do is adjust your frequency and focus positively in order to get whatever you want. I am here to tell everyone that this is not the total truth of reality. This system is far more complicated than it initially seems.
Although positive thoughts and emotions DO increase the likelihood of positive external experiences, they are not the only variables involved in this process. Although our internal and external realities are reflections of each other, the mirroring/manifestation process is not solely dependent on what you are thinking or feeling.
There are many variables involved in the process of manifestation. I typically call them “Factors of Magnetism.” This list is not totally definitive and all of these variables are interrelated.
1. Primary Focus - what you focus on every day
2. Level of Resistance - how much you fight the flow in the present moment
3. Level of Allowing - how much you release resistance to the flow
4. Level of Love - how compassionate and caring you are for your internal and external realities
5. Memories - the quality of your past experiences and your perception of them
6. Beliefs - the ingrained ideologies that you’ve formed in regards to your internal and external realities
7. Level of Presence - how mindful you are of your current present moment
8. Perception - your subjective, filtered viewpoint of your internal and external realities
9. External Reality - the outside circumstances surrounding you
10. Action - the reality-altering decisions you make
Just from examining this list, you can see how complicated manifestation is. Your external reality is a reflection of your internal world, but because your internal world is so complex, there are many different components to this process. When we take into account all of these variables, we can acknowledge that certain experiences will continue to manifest regardless of the thoughts or emotions we try to focus on.
In a way, this list is relieving because it gives us some leeway in life. We cannot totally blame ourselves for everything we create. Some people even advocate for the idea that we are designed to manifest certain experiences in order to expand our awareness and perspective of life. We may not have total say in what we are “creating.”
I am not a fan of the “create your own reality” notion, not because I totally disagree with the fact that we are creators, but because it sells the false ideology that you can have whatever you want and that if you don’t, you are somehow doing something wrong. So many factors are involved in the art of manifestation. It’s hard to keep track of them all. Some people may succesfully manifest something and attribute it to variables that are not as influential as they think. Someone may think that their positive thoughts were the only reason they got what they want, when in truth it was a conglomeration of many variables, such as the actions they took, their perception, their beliefs, and their past experiences.
There’s actually way more involved than this! I wrote something about this a while ago and you can find it here:
