How do you think Adam and Jolene complemented each other?
it's interesting how they both had such similar lives and reactions to how their respective parents broke up but different povs on how things would shake up. like both of them there so mad at their parents for being the way they were, but adam was always convinced that they could get back together whereas jolene always knew there was no way her parent's relationship could ever be salvaged, as well as her relationship with shelly. I think for adam he always believes that things can be fixed and mended (much like how his parents fixed up the house they lived in), even his relationship with jeremy. for jolene it's always easier to burn the bridges. I think jolene learned to be more forgiving of shelly and even of her mom (though not completely) where adam learned that not everything can be forgiven.
Oh yes I liked this a lot. You could tell Jolene was hurt when she could see Adamâs family beginning to repair themselves because from her experience, there was no possibility (even when she meets Adam she immediately assumes that his parents had a terrible relationship). They definitely were able to learn a lot just by talking and observing the otherâs family
