"I didn't think you'd remembered!" Or so she said. A part of her hoped the idol would mention something. Usagi didn't spend the last week dropping hints for nothing!

"Usagi! Happy birthday!" She hands her a gift bag with sweets of almost every kind in it, and a bow with a hand made necklace- a ribbon with a moon charm bought at the craft store- dangling from the front.

"Chibiusa… You didn’t have to!" The blonde couldn’t help but smile as she reached down, patting the small rabbit’s head. No matter how often they fought, she really did love the girl more than anything in the world.

"I have a gift for you, too! Don’t think I forgot about your special day.”

Usagi quickly retrieved her gift, handing over a small gift-wrapped box to Chibiusa. Inside was a charm bracelet adored with pink pearls, various gems, and a small white and pink bunny.

Rei sighed as she stubbornly sat on the steps of the temple, listening to the blonde before her beg over and over to accompany her to the mall. The raven haired female had declined at least a dozen times, saying that she had work to do. Yet it seemed to matter not to the female whom was becoming more insistent. A defeated sigh finally left the priestess’ lips before she opened her eyes. "Fine, I’ll go with you but I can’t stay out too long. I have responsibilities."

"What's the point in being young if you're just going to waste away your youth?" The blonde couldn't help but giggle. "You're beginning to sound like an old lady." 

Perhaps she was being persistent and Rei did have other obligations, but Usagi missed her fiery friend far too much. When it came to battles, they both quickly sprung into action and defended one another alongside their fellow comrades, but... other than that, the princess felt as if she was being left behind lately. It was a crucial time in their lives; the threshold between youth and adulthood. By now, most teens her age had an idea of what they wanted out of life. If Usagi's future hadn't chosen her, what other options would she have? What was she really capable of doing? The thought had been festering in the back of her mind for some time now. She desperately needed a distraction.

Usagi was relieved, maybe more than she should be. Her arms locked with Rei's as she began walking in the direction of the mall. She'll be alright... She will.
