Everything about him mesmerized her. And in truth, it was never easy to truly impress a mer queen, especially one like Nerissa. Despite not having any inkling as to who he truly is (or who they are, but then she has no knowledge of them being agender), she could feel natural veneration towards him, as if she yearned for him while he was there in her presence. Was it his beauty? His eloquence? Or is it everything?
"No, please...do not...don't go..." She called out to her, the last few words coming out in a whisper. Nerissa glimpsed the unspoken apology on his lingering face, once iluminated by the moonlight, and the next moment drowning in darkness again.
A great feeling of loss almost engulfed her completely, like one colossal wave of emotion. It was her first nature, to want, want and want even more. And he made her crave for the sight of his face, his delicate beauty. His charm, a hum of magic that surrounded him. Everything about him spoke of an ethereal being so unknown to her, a mystery.
Half-hidden in darkness, with only his voice for her to hear, and trapped in the confines of the waters until the moon wanes, Nerissa listened. Her heart - which many believed not to exist - fluttered at his words. Did he truly think so? Had it been any other, Nerissa would never doubt such high praise. But it came from him, the most tantalizing being she has ever seen. After all, he did say he did not know how to lie. Should Nerissa believe such a thing?
The way he spoke 'we' made her think he refered to his kind, his group of people. But from which kind he is from, Nerissa could not figure out. Fae? Native? Or something else entirely different? But who else? Drowning in the unanswerable questions, Nerissa decided to stop thinking about it.
"I suppose we are...and we fear nothing. Well, perhaps the full moon...because it is when we can lose our powers. But even then, we do not mind staying underwater to protect ourselves." Nerissa answered, the yearning in her heart making it ache for him. She looked down at the waters and brushed a finger over at the water, creating small ripples in the quiet depths.
Looking up at his direction, not quite sure if he could see her face, she replies, "Down here? It is beautiful. The waters are colder than before...but still, it soothes me. I find that it can soothe many people, being underwater...If only you would come out of hiding, and join me here..." she pouted, whether it was genuine sadness, or theatricals, it was unsure. But...perhaps it was both.
