on one hand, Talia's so proud of her baby boy. On the other hand, she's horrified at the idea of us reblogging a graphic with her son butt naked.

*peeks in* no, I haven't forgotten about Talia. I'm going through yet another rough patch, and I'll be spending three weeks in Ontario leaving on Sunday. While I'm gone I'm going to be writing out Talia's full back story and I'll have her up and kicking by the end of July. Thank you all for staying with me, and even though she's cranky Talia appreciates each and every one of you.
Tomorrow will be the first Mother's day since her escape, and there she was seated in complete silence. She wasn't sure if the pain she was feeling was in remembering the years that she had her family, or the reminder that she had failed.Â
She says nothing, only tucks her hair behind her ear and sighs. Better to suffer in silence...
[ He’s already wincing because he’s gotten this talk before. Out of the family, he’s not the most religious but he understands his mother’s perspective. ] “Yes, Mom.”
[ there's a slight smile hiding behind her hands, waiting til he seemed to have braced himself for the lecture before she started to laugh ] "Do you want me to make you some doughnuts to make up for it?"
”He’s adorable. Love him more than I can bare,” He murmured simply, nuzzling the  bubbling babe, who gripped at his long curls and kicked his tiny feet. He cooed softly to his nephew, keeping him close to his heart. “It’s fine, y’know, I didn’t stop lovin’ you when you were leavin’ fart bombs all over the place.”
"Yeah he is... that boy's gonna break some hearts." She briefly made her way to the fridge to grab one of Derek's bottles to warm up before rolling her eyes upon her return. "I was eleven when you were born, Lo. That excuse doesn't work any more."
"I just thought you looked a little young, don’t mind me for trying to compliment you.
I see he managed to copy your eye rolling to perfection.”
"Like mother like son. But I was nineteen when I had Derek, so I'm not as old as you think I should be."
"It wasn’t my fault. I mean  It kind of was, but I didn’t mean to. It just sort of happened and now the principle wants to talk to you about putting me in special classes…The ones for bad kids… Are you mad?”
"No Cora, I'm not mad. You're growing, you should've seen how much trouble your Uncle Peter got into when he was your age. Come on, sit down and tell me what happened."Â
[ SMS ; Móðir ] It would have been easier just growing up knowing about it.
[ SMS ; Móðir ] It would have been easier to accept. It's the truth, anyway. No point trying to sugarcoat it.
[ SMS ; DĂłttir ] I'm sorry Darcy. I was planning on telling you the truth when you were older, but I never got the chance.Â
"What if I don’t wanna go to college? What if I become one of those needy kids that still live in the basement at thirty? On the plus side, I’d still be able to get my own soccer   … Actually I just remembered. I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.”
"Oh no, I don't think so missy. We already have Uncle Peter for that, and he's 36. Plausible deniability won't work forever, young lady. You'll have to learn to keep your poker face."
"She’s your sister?"
"She was my sister.”
An attempted late birthday present for justbarelyhuman.
 " … Love you?"
"Go to bed."
 "… Nothing."
[ Lie lie lie. ]
Cora’s chest grew tighter with every word. Her mother did love her. Her mother loved her, and every awful thought she’d had about her was wrong. Those years she’d spent homeless and alone, thinking that her mother had loved her siblings more than her… A sob escaped her lips and she rushed forward, hugging her tightly. “I’m sorry, momma… I’m so sorry…”
She was lucky that Cora hugged her when she did, letting her tears fall within the security of her daughter's hair. She was so small once... seven years of missed opportunities weighing heavily on her.
"It's okay baby... everything's okay now. I'm here. And I'm not leaving. Not again."
