Jolly Holiday
This was definitely not his turf, but Dick still had a bit too much circus in him to really enjoy Gotham falls and winters. Ā Star City was much nicer, where the weather hitĀ ācrispā but notĀ ā17 sweaters and still freezingā. Ā The one downside to the lovely place was that Nightwing was just not well known, and the buildings in the new sector were a little too spread out for easy swinging. Ā But, a primary word of a work vacation was vacation, so he could afford to have a little fun.
Queen Enterprises was in the new sector, all shining and gleaming buildings with no characterāexcept for Queen Enterprises. Ā If there was one thing Oliver Queen knew, it was style. Ā After all, how else do you make a boxing glove arrow and have it actually work?
Some quick murmurs about an appointment got Dick as far as Oliverās office and a touch of flirting with the receptionist got a call in to ask if Mr. Queen was available to see a āRobbieā.
Ollie knows heās supposed to be doing something. He knows it from the way heās been at a low level panic since he got into work this morning only to discover he had nothing on his schedule today. That feels just a little bit off to him. He is, theoretically the CEO of Queen Enterprises. Theoretically, because heās pretty sure his secretary might actually run the company instead of him. Heāll have to check on that the next time a performance review comes up. Point is, he should have something to do, but he doesnāt, and heās a little scared his secretary is going to kill him at the end of the day for being unproductive.Ā
So itās a tangible sort of relief he feels when he gets a call from the receptionist asking if heās available to meet with someone named Robbie. Heās absolutely sure he doesnāt actually know anyone by that name, but he waves them through anyways.Ā
He waits impatiently for his guest to make their appearance, wondering if maybe he had a meeting scheduled today and it just got lost with the rest of whatever he was supposed to be doing. He wonders if his secretary is plotting a tack over of the company. He should look into that.Ā
When his guest enters his office Ollie takes one look at him and snorts ungratefully.Ā āRobbie huh?ā He laughsĀ āI didnāt realize you were going by that name now Dick. How tragic. Youāll have to send out for new monogrammed hankies now. Or is it bathrobes? I can never remember.āĀ
