Imagine being 17-25 years old. You are being told to make a career choice. But what are you passionate about? Do you know what it really takes to be successful in that field? Should you go to college or work your way up through an apprenticeship? What are the things a recruiter or professor won't tell you? What skills not listed in the job description are necessary for success? Fearless Fridays is seeking 12 guests who want to speak candidly about the realities of their career field, to help viewers fearlessly work towards achieving their dreams.

In 2017 Hurricane Harvey hit Texas hard. The hurricane took over 100 lives & caused over $1B in damage. This Friday at 12 CT I'm interviewing @KrisGillentine whose family was affected. We will be discussing how to effectively use social media before, during and after disasters.

Today is @periscope_app third birthday. I’ve been there since year one, and words can’t express how much my life has changed because of a freakin app! Even a photo collage can’t express it! These are just a tiny fraction of the amazing people I’ve met, who have helped me aspire to become something more than I was. Happy Birthday Periscope.

Being a creator, I often see many ads that guarantee a quick and/or easy way to be successful online. The truth is, it takes time, patience, and dedication. @peterhollens launched his creator academy last year with other 70 training videos covering concept to monetization beyond Adsense and community building. Peter walks the walk and is able to live with online video. His channel receives over 5 MILLION views a month. If you’re ready to make a serious effort with your online video presence, I highly recommend this. There are quick fixes offered, but a time-tested method of building your way to success on your terms.

Are your goals specific enough? We are approaching the annual resolution time. Most fail because the goal is arbitrary and non-specific. This woman gave a TED talk about female workplace goals being strategic vs broad. Try this exercise in the comments section. Name one of your goals, then make it as specific as possible. Here’s an example for myself. Broad goal: I will broadcast more shows in 2018. Specific goal: I will broadcast 35 shows in 2018 with a total viewership exceeding 9000.

Are you facing a plateau, burnout, or holiday stress? The holidays, meant for joy, have become a large source of stress as we join family and friends and feel the pressure to have a decent answer for the “what have you been up to?” questions we face. We all want to claim a big win to validate our hustle and grinds. The reality is that we should be grateful for what we have accomplished so far so we have the endurance to get to that next level. Below list something you are grateful for. For me, it’s accomplishing the first year of my livestream show. It’s not huge, I don’t have sponsors lining up, I’m not an influencer. But in they first year I was able to have some pretty awesome guests. They believed in my purpose when I had nothing to show them and very little to offer for value (as I would want to offer more). Now I have a year of stats behind me as I build the next season of the show! If you’re feeling discouraged be strong because you didn’t come this far only to come this far. As the OP @officialsierraboggess says “You are enough, you are so enough”.

It’s Friday night. What are you doing to pursue your dreams and passions? I spent today talking to some potential guests for Fearless Fridays. Thankfully they are located where a holiday open house was so I was able to hit two birds with the same stone. The guy in the photo is singer @peterhollens who is in his first production @holidaysonbway on Broadway after years of acapella independent music, working with the likes of @colleen , @lindseystirling , @taylordavisviolin , @nickpitera , @thepianoguys , @gardinersistersofficial and @officialjackieevancho to name a few. Are you constantly comparing yourself to others? Comparison can be your own self-bullying behavior that demotivates you. It t pls you you’re not good enough, and that others are better than you. There is a way to stop this harmful mindset of comparison to others. Compare yourself to...yourself. Self comparison lets you see your growth and helps you choose which way you want to grow further. As an example I’ll use this girl above, Cassie Ho aka @blogilates . If I compared my exercise pattern to hers, I wouldn’t feel that good about myself. I’d probably quit. When I compare my exercise pattern to myself, I can see that I’ve done more stretches than I did a year ago, and that the next step is to start using weights in my routine. Smaller, achievable goals that I can quickly make to push myself even further forward. You can do it too.

There are times in our lives that we feel joy is furthest away from us. This year - for many reasons - can feel that way. Multiple hurricanes, deaths in you family, loss of a job, disagreement with government, whatever is making you feel far from joy, I’d love to help. I want to bring you some joy, even if only for a fleeting moment. I am going to mail 20 Christmas cards to the first 20 people to DM me a mailing address (P.O. boxes are fine). You don’t need to know me personally or even be the recipient! There is no sales pitch, no gimmick. This is me trying to help bring joy to this chaotic world one card at a time. Sometimes we need to let our ideas develop, but there comes a time when you need to stop developing and make the idea a reality. I’ve been wanting to ask @garyvee to be on Fearless Fridays since day one. I just sent the request. I’ll be honest. Part was waiting to have stats available to “prove” myself and the other part was getting over my very real fear of rejection. So after the stats I procrastinated. But I stopped percolating the idea and made it happen albeit lately. What’s stopped percolating in YOUR journey that has become procrastination? You can get past it!

For year two of Fearless Fridays, I will be introducing a small series of shows specifically geared towards female empowerment. Learn from women who have paved their own way to define success on their terms.
