There are days when everything feels too heavy. I question my choices, my worth, and my place in this world. On those days, the darkness whispers so loudly that it almost convinces me that giving up would be easier.
But somehow, in the midst of that heaviness, God reaches me in unexpected ways. Not through loud miracles or grand signs, but through the simplest, quietest pieces of His creation.
A tree with green leaves swaying softly in the wind. A stretch of blue sky that feels too peaceful to ignore. An artist whose work touches a deep part of me. A story full of wisdom that seems perfectly timed for my path. The waves crashing against the shore, reminding me that even chaos has rhythm. Even the smallest, most overlooked things exist only to be beautiful, and they pull me back into myself.
It’s in those moments that the darkness starts to lose its grip. My thoughts quiet. My breathing steadies. It becomes clear once again that God has never left me—not even once.
He has been my constant when no one else stayed. He has whispered hope into the moments when I felt completely alone. Even though I’ve stumbled and neglected His teachings while life poured its worst over me, He still meets me gently. Not with anger or judgment, just love.
It hurts to realize how far I drift when I’m in pain, but it comforts me to know that He waits for me anyway. He sends reminders that life still holds beauty, that I still have a place in this world, and that tomorrow can be better, even if today hurts.
So I choose to stay. I choose to breathe. I choose to notice the tiny miracles placed quietly in front of me. As long as God keeps sending these small signs, I know I’m not done yet. I know there is more for me. I know I’m still held.
