Weekend Movies
Notable movies this weekend:
Blah...these all look whack! But with me being a Glee fan (yeah...I know) I might go see Rock of Ages and make a comic. Are there any movies that you think I should make a comic for?
That's My Boy
Rock of Ages
The Blob (1958)
The Blob. Kevin Smith recommended this. Lol. The movies back in this time are just strange. You can tell a lot about the times based on way people acted and talked. The effects are classic, cut shots to show the blob, and even to narrate the story flow. This film was made in 1958 but I think it still holds up. I suggest you go watch it! If anything...ha...make fun of the movie. Example: I pretty sure theses kids are suppose to be in high school - When the cop calls the parents, the girls dad is the principle. That means that these kids age very fast!...or the other funny thing is that fact that nobody decided to take a fire extinguisher to it and try and freeze it?...geez, my logic is strange. Funny, the cops start noticing that people are missing and don't really do anything...(guess that was small town life). The best part is that movies were 80 cents!!! Check it out @hulu: http://hulu.com/w/6irj
Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Oh man...this was such a fun movie! I got bored the other day and decided I'd watch something with cool motion graphics and fun action. I know there is a lot of hype about the upcoming movie "Wreck-It Ralph" but until that comes out I'm sticking with the notion that Scott Pilgrim has it won as the best gaming movie feel of our time thus far.

Netflix of the Week
I should have listened to my own advise about "Man on a Ledge". When a company can't even come up with a more cleaver title then a pun on a man on the end of his wits...Geez, this movie was bad!
"Great things have small beginnings"
Prometheus
Oh Man! I hope you're sitting down for this. Or standing. Whatever. Go see this movie! I kinda feel like the questions of life and existence are rather far fetched in this movie, although an interesting play on the question of religion and where do we come from...and where do they come from?...(I won't go there). Visually this movie looks nice. Story wise this movie is a great prequel! And character development of about all of 4 people was rather interesting! In essence - GO SEE THIS MOVIE and make up your own mind :)
*TheRamblingMango Rating - 4/5 Great things have small beginning! Not to mention the ending shot is freaking awesome! And the human race will always be screwed and messed up - No matter what planet we are from! :)

Snow White and the Huntsman
Blah....I was very much not impressed by this movie. (Wait...pause)...Ok...I was impressed by the VFX of the movie and the wicked Queen "Charlize Theron's" acting. She was freaking awesome. Chris Hemsworth most recently from Thor and Avengers should stick with that genre. I thought he was better in Avengers but overall I don't really think he's a strong actor. I guess he just doesn't come off as convincing and real. Our main freaking actress... sparkles one look "Kristen Stewart" (the one where she stares with her mouth slightly open looking a bit scared or sick...not sure what she's going for...almost like she want's to say something...or cry). *side note - did you know she used to be blonde!? Any way, stop CASTING her...please. Unless you want to kill her in the first act. The dwarf make no sense in this movie...(I'm rambling...) If I had to sum up one shot to explain why this is dumb...lol...(there are many shots...) OK...how about this! She starts out as princess, escapes the queen, goes on weird drug trip in the forest, meets the Huntmans...Dies, comes back to life, and then she becomes Joan of Arc!
*TheRamblingMango Rating - 2/5 The movie looks nice. Maybe if you're really, really, bored...and it's in a bin for a dollar. maybe...or just wait until it comes to TV.

The Avengers Review
(MOVIE REVIEW)
This movie was totally worth it. I enjoyed it even with the added experience of yelling kids and idiots who left their phones on. It does start out slow but that's attributed to the character development that I thought was portrayed rather well. The humor was definitely well placed, (Iron Man is still my favorite smart ass) and every fight scene was extremely worth the money spent to create it. For Marvel, this was a great start to the year and summer!
*TheRamblingMango Rating - 4/5 Go see it!!!
*Rotten Tomatos Rating
Mission Impossible 4
(MOVIE REVIEW)
I saw this the first time and was all on board. Freaking awesome and everything. Then over the Xmas break I went and saw it again with my bros. How on freaking earth did this movie make a 93% on tomato meter? Geez. If NFL players had the head drama resistance that Tom Cruise has there would be no concussions EVER in football. Huh...
*theRamblingMango Rating 3/5 - See it once and done.

This book is hilarious
Hanna Movie Review
This movie was interesting in the style it was shot and light treatment it was given. (Very dark and gritty which I'm sure was what they were going for!) Without giving anything away of course I'd I have to say that I was just a bit disappointed. It did seem that a lot of the flow of this movie was paced slow. Which left me wanting to fast forward to get to all the parts where this little girl just beats the crap out of people. Even the conclusion left me feeling that I have lost about an hour 45 of my life. Eric Bana did play a confincing role. I think I liked his character the best though and the villain conflict between he and Cate Blanchett came off very convincingly. I'd actually recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet.
TheRamblingMango - says Netflix it. 3/5
Weekend Thoughts
I spent the weekend watching football and hockey!!! What movies did you watch this weekend?
Oh Will Ferrell. We love it when you seem bored and go with the crazy movies. :P
Red Tails Review
OH MY!!! Well I'm going to go easy with "Kid Gloves" just because this was a tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen. But I read a review the other day asking why this couldn't have been on the same caliber as "Saving Private Ryan" My answer to that - Slacking directors and producer. I noticed some things about Lucus Films...the stories suck! It's almost all visual. There were moments when this movie got me excited and then quickly descended to a really bad joke or just BAD dialog. And with all the talent in this movie it just never should have gone done that road. It's almost like every good actor shot was a separate movie. My head hurts from this sad sad display.
*theRamblingMango - 2/5 I agree with the critics. I'd Netflix this bad boy.
How RottenTomato went.
Geez. While I was doing the weekend run down I came across the gem of a movie. This looks intense. Too bad it's only in select theaters. SAD....
