The Rant: Drake- Nothing Was the Same
While the whole world is going crazy over Drake's new album, I'm going Ape Shit!
Why does Drake's emotions have me sitting so close to the speakers?
I guess it's the fact that 40 produced one hell of a drug, and Drake's lyrics, for some people, hit so close to home, that I started to feel like the girl he was talking about on track 14, Come Thru. I might have even gotten dressed like that was a legit invitation. Â
Mommy says, "never make funny faces or you might get stuck that way", but my face has been screwed from Tuscan Leather to All me feat. Big Sean & 2 Chainz (because I got the deluxe edition), and I could careless if it stays this way, because once I blame NWTS you should understand the genius level that Drake's producer, 40, Â put in those beats is liable to have your whole body doing things you can only do when this album is on.
Rap Radar's, Elliott Wilson, recently interviewed Drake for his Crwn Series, and I got the privilege to listen in on the conversation. Drake touched on double standards in the industry, his ability to laugh at himself, and the epic, Control, verse that Kendrick Lamar addressed him in. My favorite part of the interview was when he spoke about his mother's reaction to the song, Too Much feat. Sampha. I don't want to spoil to much just be sure to tune into the Crwn premiere Sept. 25 on Pitchfork. I've included some pics from the Crwn interview below to hold you over!
Any-who, I think its safe to I'm a Drake Fan, I vow to dance to all his emotions over a 40 produced beat.Â
