In October I joked on twitter that “being an anti-Zionist Jew is a lot like being bisexual, no side will have you and also your dad is disappointed.” I was so wrong. Well okay, not about my dad being disappointed, that part is very real.

Hatred of Jewish people is absolutely on the rise and is something I have experienced in my lifetime, including many instances before October 2023. However, the vast majority of the blind hatred, name calling, and threats I have received in the last 6/7 months have been from Zionists who disagree with me.

When I go to protests that support Palestine I announce that I am Jewish via my sign and clothing. Not once have I ever once felt unsafe because of other protestors. I have even, at points, received so much gratitude that I turned red and started to stammer.

I have felt welcomed, supported, cared for, and protected in this movement.
