His hand felt heavy on her shoulder and she wanted nothing more than to slap it away and scream at him for such presumptuousness. But deep down a part of her knew very well that his words were true, that she had once fallen for a woman who only betrayed her in the end. 

Still, she wasn’t going to admit all that to his face.

“I said it’s not a big deal. It’s in the past and that cheap woman is a rotting corpse now.” Unconsciously, she wrapped her red coat tighter around her waist. “There’s no need to spoil a beautiful night with such ugliness.”
