Silence. Then, the noise of glass shattering, followed by a loud thud. The short man pried himself off of the ground quickly before taking flight, seemingly about to fall into hysterics. Not too far behind, another man jumped out of the window, looking rather angry.
"You won't catch me like that, you know!"
He wove through streets and alleyways until he had a moment's rest, grinning to foxself. In a second, there was a fox where they'd previously been, and not a moment too soon. After a few fruitless seconds of searching the man gave up, turning around and walking out. Hellion returned to its normal form, cackling to himself. Another successful day of looting and tricking others.

The immortal scientist started to snicker, before outright falling into hysterics. Meanwhile. Steve looked utterly unamused, arms crossed.
"Really, Anani? You're laughing at this?"
He made an exaggerated motion towards the image, which just made Anani laugh harder.

What phase of the moon are you?
New Moon
You are precise as a silver needle, quiet and determined. You see potential for creation where others see nothing at all and develop plans with astounding intricacy. Though you may not see your desired results just yet, the force of your will is powerful in its silent specificity. You were made for new beginnings.
Full Moon
You are an intense and hedonistic maximalist with esoteric interests related to both spirituality and psychology. You enjoy both causing and experiencing chaos. You revel in eccentricity and people often see you as an enigma. That’s okay, because you are whole and vibrant in your knowledge of self.
Anani grinned, wide and unperturbed. He made an almost theatrical motion of rolling so that they were now laying on their back, sitting up just as quickly.
"Well, thank you for realizing!"
Steve simply stared at the image for a few seconds, an almost imperceptible smile forming on his face. Somewhat unnerving, considering how he usually always had one.
".. Thank you."

Who needs therapy when you have murdering every single unfortunate bastard who ever wronged you?
[ I wish I could answer this in character but. It's too funny for me to even have the braincells for that- ]

Wasn’t that some- religious name pertaining to a cloud?
Ya know what yeah seemed fitting enough as is. Although the question caused her brain to stutter, pausing for a moment.
“My What’s What of you?”
Genuine question. This one doesn’t leave the house unless for concerts or the occasional errands if Carol couldn’t handle them so just…
Their what?
Universe? Like those movie things? Is that what he meant? If that was it did that mean more of them? Carol? Whitty? And the other faces they would see from time to time? Like Pico-
Their head hurt. Thinking a little too hard.
They barely kept himself from snorting at that, humored by the reaction they'd had. Frankly, he'd assumed that Sunday would've already had an encounter with the multiverse, but to think that Anani was the first. Flattering, mixed with a slight feeling of pity. They knew what he was planning, and it would sour interactions with other people in the multiverse for her. Oh well, not like he could be bothered to actually care.
"Ah, my apologies. Didn't realize that I was the first person you'd met that wasn't from your universe. I'll let you digest that first."
Although it'd be mildly entertaining to keep on talking to see how much the human-adjacent anomaly could handle, some things were easier to do with some amount of trust there already. If the scientist were to fall into the temptation of such a petty wish, then chances are that'd be ruined, and he couldn't stand the thought of giving away knowledge so foolishly.
"Cursed? Well, I don't see it. Do you, Stevie?"
The usually stoic immortal was laying down chest first upon the couch, legs swinging lazily as they spoke, almost as if he was emphasizing their point with it. He looked almost cat-like, their motions completely unbothered by everything going on. Steve looked at Anani, then away, expression cold and unreadable.
"Mm."
"Huh. Hey Stevie, how're ya feeling?"
It was like a switch had been flipped. Anani looked far more relaxed, narrowed eyes being discarded in favor of a more soft look, almost mischievous. There was a wide smile on their face, one that didn't seem to fit the scientist.
"... Mm. I suppose I am."
On the other hand was Steve, whose smile had been replaced with something that was almost a frown, were it curved just a bit more. His posture was straighter, colder. All in all, it was odd.
Ah. Yo that's w i l d. She seemed to understand, at least to a degree, the metaphorical gears turning in their head as he explained. That made sense, didn't explain the why of it but explained it to a good degree.
"Ah I think I get it. Huh, sounds really wild tbh."
Another pause-
"Oh and I'm Sunday. What's your name?" Genuine question. And what still nagged her was the very vague similarities between that Updick guy and the other. They just didn't seem to wrap their head around it.
".... also this might sound a lil weird but you look so familiar it's a bit... off putting."
"I suppose so. It's as weird as being the embodiment of an emotion, though, so it's something I personally have stopped questioning."
Now that was a lie. He'd never stopped wondering, never stopped asking why, how. After all, he'd gone as far as to vivisect more than one immortal when they were not yet one, and it was one of the first things they did after assuming their new... Body, for lack of a better way to say it.
Sunday, then? An odd name, but he wasn't particularly that different from her in that subject. First Cirrus, and now Anani... Representative names, yes, but not the ones one would usually think about unless they were looking far too hard.
"I'm Anani. An odd name, yes, but I do believe you won't particularly be surprised at it."
He wasn't normal, not by a long shot. Had forsaken anything of the sort when they made that wish. Anani didn't seem too surprised at the mention of perceived familiarity; some Updike out there had to have met her.
"... No, I understand. I suppose you've met your universe's equivalent of me, then?"
"Indeed! I mean, they have taste, look at me."
The immortal threw himself back onto a couch that seemed to have spontaneously appeared from thin air, one leg propped up in the air, smile growing cheeky. Anani sighed in exasperation, filled with fondness for his partner.
"... You're not wrong."
"Attaboy, Cloudy!"
The scientist chokes on air he doesn't even need nor breathe, while Steve starts to laugh, the noise loud and warm.
"Guess we've both been assigned manwhore, huh, Cloudy?"
Anani didn't respond, and instead just gently poked the other immortal's forehead, looking distinctly unamused.
They tilt their head a bit to the side.
"Oh huh... wild. I mean I'd believe, dunno why it happens but I guess that makes sense."
A pause between that. Huh. So he does feed on it but doesn't take? That's an interesting thing to think on. And yet they were still curious. They haven't been out and about to get to know things in a while. Their norm was all they knew-
Maybe a bit of change wouldn't be bad.
"So... the more curious someone is the better? If that's what I'm getting from this.."
He nodded nonchalantly; it wasn't like they'd been expecting any more helpful commentary from her part. Most anomalies didn't bother to find out much about their inner workings, like a patient going to a doctor. They described their symptoms, what they saw and felt. It was his job to delve deeper. Far more than just skin deep. His joy as well, to find out exactly what made them tick, leave nothing up to interpretation.
"In essence, yes. Immortals ares strengthened by the people around them feeling their emotion of choice, so, logically, the more of it there is, the better for said immortal."
