I want my readers to be aware of some of the more heavy topics that I plan to incorporate into the series before they dedicate a portion of their time to it.

-It will include period-typical sexism (and discussion of it) as all the various individual stories for my series are intended to be set in and run alongside stories from Greek Mythology, stories which are inherently connected to locations and time periods in the Ancient World, specifically in and around the Mediterranean.

-It will include allusions to and discussion of sexual coercion, assault, and abuse against adults as well as CHILDREN in line with common place customs or practices and the general atmosphere during the time around women, children, and other vulnerable individuals when it comes to the seriousness of the topic and what was considered ‘serious’ or ‘not serious’ about it. (This will be especially prominent because the series focuses on myths that mostly revolve around the Greek Pantheon, demigods, and mortals lacking in the morals department)

-It will include mentions of familial abuse (which includes incest) as well as discussions on the topic.

-It will include undertones of depression and suicidal idealizations as well as self harm.

These are all topics that will be seen throughout the series BUT there will be no explicit sexual scenes involving them (I’m not comfortable with making smut out of these topics). That being said, they are not the main focus of the series, and I will be putting warnings for any of the chapters I post so that if you are still interested in reading them you can have fair warning.

Oh my god, I’ve returned to your AU again, and oh my god, I am so delighted by it — you have portrayed Percie absolutely magnificently. She is a beautiful adult woman, and she radiates such an aura of strength and allure that I would fall to my knees before her, thinking she is Aphrodite in her aspect as the goddess of war... Good lord, she is gorgeous and tall 😭😭😭

I’m so glad that that is what comes across because that is exactly what I wanted to convey!

And she is INCREDIBLY tall, especially amongst Bronze Age Greeks (apparently the common height for a man during that time was estimated to be ~5’4 to ~5’6)

Actually, I am thinking about the transphobia that Percie is subjected to. And I am absolutely certain that someone will surely assume, and very likely voice, that Percie once saw one of the goddesses naked and was turned into a woman as punishment

There is definitely a lot of speculation in the Achaean camp about Percie and how she ‘used to be a man’, no matter what explanations they attempt come up with- none of them add up for long once their able to actually observe her, but that doesn’t stop the rumors from getting even more outrageous.

Percie is mostly oblivious to these rumors and is basically blind to what is essentially hardened warriors acting like church gossips; but, that doesn’t mean that she’s let her guard down, she just thinks that they’re sneaking around to find a weak point in her armor rather than to find more gossip material. (Her fear is not unfounded, it’s just that these war criminals are focused on something else right now)

I want to say something real quick:

I will be changing some plot points that I previously stated to be apart of the story because they no longer fit in with the plot…. BUT! Worry not, Percie is still a trans women :D it’s just that-

1) Instead of Aphrodite helping her with her transition, her father helped (as a daughter of Poseidon she is inherently more… aquatic, and there just so happens to be several marine species that can change their own gender, and she just so happens to have such a connection to her father’s domains that she is much more… amorphous… So, in short, Poseidon helped his daughter reshape her form)

2) While she will still hold a resemblance to Helen of Troy, Percie will have a more scarred and warrior-like appearance, which was not prized amongst women… (An upside for themes a downside for Percie)

3) Percie is fully into her adult years (she’s 27 yrs/old) and was married to Annabeth (she will not be demonized in my series, she has flaws but so do all of the other characters, their marriage did not end due to cheating or divorce)

Since I came back today, here is ONE of the potential designs for Zeus that I have

This is a younger design (think titanomachy) just to play around with ideas.

The gods for my vision of my story are pretty amorphous and well, not human (at least in shape)

-they can turn into animals or take on certain features of those animals according to their mood

-because they have ichor instead of blood, any scaring has a golden sheen and should they blush/get flushed they glow kinda golden?

Listen, listen, transfem Percy is the version of what a beautiful woman should look like in ancient Greece. First, they're stunned by her beauty, then confused when they're told she's a man (transphobia), and then they don't care because they see her as a cute boy (transphobia again). Let's remember that in ancient times there was a lot of homosexuality and love for effeminate men (a lot of transphobia and pedophilia). Basically, it was normal because men were great and glorious, and it was okay to admire such beauty (a very strange way of saying you're gay, but who am I to tell them anything?). But here's the important thing: transfem Percy looks like Helen! And it's hard to see the resemblance because of their facial expressions, so when they both act the same way, they look incredibly alike because they're cousins! And I just want to see everyone nervous and acting silly in front of the second most beautiful woman in Greece, and Helen defending her cousin because she loves her and she's her COUSIN, and she'll kick anyone who says otherwise.

Helena and Percy may not look that much alike physically, because Percy is definitely taller, but they probably share some noticeable traits.

1) I am planning on using Helen (whether in name or in person) and her relationship (familial) to Percie for SEVERAL things (mostly appearance but also a couple of other things including , PERHAPS, being Helen’s parallel)

2) You are correct in that I am using Ancient Greece’s …UNIQUE… Misogynistic, vaguely PEDOPHILIC view on homosexuality to then go into the intricacies and struggles of transfem Percie

3) Not a plot point, but is a fair bit taller than Helen (and many of the men)(which will also somewhat play into the transphobia)

4) Triton rarely gets to know his demigod siblings and so for most of the beginning and probably much of the middle he won’t really interact with her but he might be mentioned (no comment on their relationship)

5) Poseidon during this time is still in his vaguely… Unhinged Era (cough typical Greek Pantheon behavior cough)(you know what I’m talking about), he also hasn’t been introduced to modern concepts of feminism… and equality… and not treating your children as extensions of yourself (he was a fairly good father for the time, but that was for the time) and while he may protect her that’s more for his own pride

6) Percie is not only an older but much more experienced version of canon!Percy (in addition to the obvious) and she is not a woman to be played with (I won’t be saying anymore besides you’ll see)😉

I wasn’t sure if the concept would be all that popular since I’ve only seen canon!Percy being used in these time travel-type scenarios, but then I read a Dan da Dan fanfic where Okarun was having a self-discovery transfem moment and couldn’t help myself!

I mean just imagine Bronze Age Grecian people (especially Kings and Soldiers) trying to understand powerful demigod who “used to be a man but chose to be a woman” (story will include transphobia, homophobia, and sexism because while these topics were not unheard of in Ancient Greece the sexism really tainted them - so be aware of this if it makes you uncomfortable) while she (a trans woman) is just trying to navigate through the world of the Odyssey.

And that’s not even addressing all the nonsense that was going on with the Olympians in this age and how THEY would react/interact with her!

But ,on the topic of her design, Steven Universe and Land of the Lustrous along with Precure anime in general were some of my first inspirations in terms of character design (and they still have a chokehold on me). So there is a very real chance that they were part of my inspiration for her.

Finally, if you’re going to be sticking around like remora I guess I’ll have to feed you 😮‍💨 😒 (jk jk), but anyway I’ll keep you updated! 😗

I want to start this post by saying:

Not everyone is able or comfortable with confronting these topics, and there is no shame in that.

You DON’T know why a stranger on the internet does or does not talk on certain topics.

It could be because of experience with a victim, their own mental health, or just because they don’t want to think about it.

Finished my design for Epic!Zeus

*Clapping his hands like an admiring sea calf* I saw your art with Percie and it's so beautiful!! Please, please tell me about her: which epic musical song suits her? What is her relationship with Poseidon, Odysseus and Circe? What kind of clothes does she wear? Did she help Odysseus in any way? Or is it not Penelope? What kind of clothes does she wear?

I do plan on covering her story in future comics and art works, but as my first ask I will give you a sneak peak:

1. Percie does NOT belong to the time that Epic: The Musical is set in, an incident involving Kronos sent her there.

2. She and HER Poseidon did (note this for later) have a relatively good relationship, she was, after all, “her Father’s daughter, in all ways…”

But, she has yet create a relationship with or even formally meet Epic!Poseidon, though… due to what occurred between her and her father… you could say she is less than enthusiastic to potentially cross paths with him, she plans to let history play out as it is meant to

(though whether or not it lets her… well, that’s a whole different story.)

3. Poseidon and, by proxy, the other gods are technically aware of her presence, but they are not really sure what exactly she is?

They all have their opinions, but ultimately decide that she probably is just a minor sea god and not something worth consideration.

(Under normal circumstances, Poseidon would be able to tell if she was his, but then again, these aren’t normal circumstances…)

I am mostly just preparing for the story at this point, so I won’t be going into her relations with other characters because of spoilers.

Anyway, for your less loaded questions:

1. If I had to choose which Epic!song I would most associate with her, it would have to be Scylla.

But, as for other songs, I would choose Banshee’s “Birth of Venus” and Cepheid’s original song “Tides”

2. Percie prefers tight-fitted clothing with a little more coverage (that can also offer support or structure) or accessories that can cover her scars when she wears more “revealing” outfits.
