After some not so awesome plane rides... we FINALLY made it to our destination!!! Helllooooo Greece!
Pompeii and Sorrento
Word to the wise, if you go to Pompeii, which you should, bring sunscreen, water, snacks, and walking shoes!
Pompeii was really cool to tour around. Lots of ruins everywhere, and just history!! I love it! You can see Mt. Vesuvius in the distance, and it is just a truly incredible experience. It is also VERY big, so it will take you a very long time to try and see it all.
After we spent all day walking around and seriously trying to see it all, we needed some relaxing time. So we headed to the end of the train line to Sorrento!
It was a very much needed break, and it was so nice to just sit and relax by the water and take in the sights!
And the boxed wine :)
Napoli
The next day we decided to hit Naples because it was a Sunday and generally things close in Rome on Sundays and Mondays!
Our hostel was AMAZING! And if you decide to go to Naples (which you should because its beautiful and you can get a whole pizza for 5 euros..) I suggest you stay in the hostel La Controra because it was fantastic! One of my favorites for sure!
Our hostel was to the left of this awesome building!
PIZZA!!
And the coast :)
Update!
Sorry all, It has been FOREVER since I’ve updated this thing! I’ve been SUPER busy and my time here is almost up!.. craziness! But a little of what has been happening is... I went to Italy!
We dropped off our things and headed out for a night of “roaming in Rome”
Disappointing thing, and if you are going to visit Rome, I don’t want you to get your hopes up, buttttt the Trevi fountain is under construction and will be for a VERY long time :( But that didn’t stop us from throwing a coin over!
Rome is absolutely beautiful! I love every second of it :)
And the gelato isn’t so bad either ;) (cookies n creme! So GOOD)
Two things I will miss about Germany and where I currently live: 1. No open container laws 2. Living next to a lake and being able to see this view every day
This is what my work day consisted of yesterday. I can’t complain!
I decided to wake up early and watch the sunrise the other day.. I was not disappointed.
Let’s go fly a kite!
Today since it was incredibly windy outside ( my friends host families trampoline ended up in the trees.. ) The kiddos and I decided to go outside and play, and try and fly a kite!
But we ended up giving up on that whole idea.. and tried to fly ourselves
And when that also failed us.. Julius grabbed his net and said the fish from the lake were going to fly into his net
This pretty much sums up my day!
So Julius stole my phone while I was making dinner
St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland! Can check this one off the bucket list :)
A beautiful day filled with Julius!
This weekend was awesome! I got the house to myself and so naturally, Cortni and I cook a DELICIOUS meal :)
Harry Potter and the wonderful sunny weather. Great relaxing Sunday!
It's bier fest season again!! This time: stark! (strong).. and boy were they right!
Some snow clouds rolling in over the wonderful sun the other day.. but pretty cool to witness!
Zagreb, Croatia. The food was awesome, the people were awesome, the town was awesome. Apart from our host never responding when we arrived, but thankfully found other awesome hosts.. this trip was amazing!
Went on a walk/bike ride with these kiddos today. Beautiful day!
