Peppermint Lounge - New York City
After the Beatles performed for the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show, February 9, 1964, they hit the town. First checking out the famous Playboy Club and then about midnight (in the wee hours of Feb. 10th) they arrived to see the show at New York’s famous Peppermint Lounge - the birthplace of the Twist dance craze.
Sitting in the middle of the action are Cynthia Lennon with husband John, who’s chatting to Ringo Starr - who has the lovely Geri Miller (his twisting partner and late night date) sitting on his lap. DJ Murray the K (aka Murray Kauffman) is shown from behind sitting across from Cynthia.
