Rosalia had been going through many stages of mourning. After everything that had recently happened between them, the only thing that made sense was to get a divorce. They couldnโt even have a normal conversation anymore without fighting. She hated everything they had become. She couldnโt sleep the night before, she was tossing and turning as she cried throughout the night. As the sun rose, she put on her brave face for the day and pushed through her emotions. One thing about Rosalia was she would never show her weakness in public. Putting on her favorite black pantsuit, she looked like she was ready for a funeral as her large sunglasses hid her eyes and true emotions. She decided to walk to their law office, taking in the fresh air and trying to see the positive side to things. โGood morning,โ she chimed to their lawyers and sat down in front of the marked papers that read โDIVORCE AGREEMENT.โ It felt like a stab in her heart as she read down the list. Quickly realizing her soon-to-be ex-husband was taking more time than he ever did, she grew impatient, fidgeting in her seat until she heard the sound of him approaching the room. She stared at him. She knew when he was off, and, he was definitely off. Looking at him in utter confusion and slight disgust, she rolled her eyes and ripped off her sunglasses.
โDid you really just show up to sign divorce papersโฆ drunk?โ She said, out loud and looked at him directly in his face. โWho even are you right now?โ she said, turning her body away from him and grabbing the pen off the table, looking at the line that decided their fate. Her lawyer lifted a hand and looked at Robert, then they both looked at them. โThereโs no going back now. Please, remember that,โ her lawyer said and ushered her to continue. โPlease, sign here and here,โ she pointed to the designated lines and Rosalia nodded. She looked at Rocco one last time, feeling a lump in her throat and she looked away. โGot it,โ she said, officially signing Rosalia Huntington on the line that agrees to the divorce. She looked at her name on the paper, her eyes beginning to water and she sniffed. โThank you, for your hard work,โ she said to her lawyer, giving her a soft, exhausted grin and scooted her seat back, waiting for them to stamp it officially.ย
