Season 4 Finale
So I’ve finally watched the last 2 episodes of season 4 and I have to say I’m feeling abit underwhelmed? I enjoyed episode 9 and the build up in episode 10 and I know they had Willow and Robert actually get married and the uprising not go ahead to add drama as it was supposed to be unexpected but I found the end of the episode abit of an anti-climax because of that?
I think it would have so much more interested to see the plan be carried out and Willow out Robert because I was excited for his reaction and Jasper and Boone’s responses. I thought it would have been interesting to be going into season 5 wondering what happened next with that and how everyone’s relationships and alliances would fair afterwards. What would have been Roberts immediate reaction? What would happen next with Jasper and Boone if they did have to hold down Robert. How would Eleanor and Roberts relationship have continued when he realised she was against him? Would Liam actually get to be king?
Maybe I was just disappointed that the whole season has been focused on showing Roberts bad side and watching everyone find out the truth about him as if it was leading up to something when in the end it didn’t.
Also, there were a lot of things thrown in at the end to make us want more and leave mini cliffhangers but it almost felt like too much to me. Finding out that Kathryn’s pregnant almost had me rolling my eyes, I’m not the biggest fan of her character and yet another pregnancy cliffhanger seemed abit repetitive. And the cliffhanger with violet returning was abit of a let down because she was shown in the trailer for episode 10 so we knew she was making an appearance yet it was for 10 seconds which was disappointing.
However, I did think that the character portrayal was very good in the last episodes and the mixture of drama and comedy was good. I found myself laughing at some parts yet other parts were still touching. The camera work and styling was excellent as always and I loved the flashbacks too I always think this show does then really well!
Obviously I am really hoping for season 5! I am excited to learn what happened to Violet and why she has only just returned as I liked her character. I’m excited to see the aftermath of the wedding and what everyone’s reactions are. I’m curious what Robert said to Willow in his speech with her before the wedding, I have a feeling he found out about the uprising and has blackmailed her to get on side. Unless he just convinced her he loves her but I can’t see her character being that weak willed?
Anyway those are just some of my thoughts, I’d love to hear anyone else’s. Does anyone agree with me?
Yes, I felt the same way. Underwhelmed, and like the chapter wasn’t finished. That episode should have been the one leading up to the season finale, IMO, not the final one. I think a season finale should wrap up the main storyline AND introduce new questions that will be answered the next season, but this felt extremely unfinished. I was just *meh* about it.
CAN YOU HEAR ME SCREAMING? 🤗🤗
My precious babies. 💓💓💍
Guys...
Was that stuff that Robbie said to Willow from Eleanor’s stolen letter to Jasper? I didn’t catch it right away, but, just wow.
Suddenly I’ve remembered why I love Jaspenor so much

Your precious Willow, Miss Sweet and Innocent.. You think you’re playing with her heart, but she’s playing with yours. Maybe she’s the one who came between you and your brother, I can’t tell yet.
Robert looks at Willow like I look at a cupcake. Gotta have it all!

“If you are powerful enough to destroy a relationship, you’re powerful enough to repair it. And I’m not only talking about Kathryn, brother.”
Am I sensing some foreshadowing here? Like, if he somehow ends up ruining his relationship with Willow, are they telling us that if he really wants to he has the chance to make amends??? PLEASE LET IT BE, i’m constantly living on the edge here.
And also, am I jumping to conclusions or is he subtly trying to tell Liam to repair also his friendship with Willow other than the one with the family and eventually (really??) Kathryn? Because catch my feelings in the next millennium if he is, I’ll take Kathryn and her “you’re the good brother” and thrown them both in the river.
I thought he was referring to the Robert/Liam relationship.
Royals 4x05 - willow and robert
she called him by his name, he points it out too
he likes the necklace
when he quotes her during his speech
its like a coming home shot
seeing her frazzled, love that they are touching
gives her a drink
smiles after the shock of seeing her down it
doesnt care about the prime minister on the phone - it willows time
they talk, robert was never meant to allow himself to love
he’s starting to hope and feel things he buried
KISSS
THIS WAS THE EPIC MOMENTT
when he shuts Cassandra down for his queen
when he’s looking out the window, “Are you okay” - willow
he brings up her speech, she worries she said the wrong thing
when he says he owes her an apology, loved willow’s “why” - it was so cute and innocent
he shouldnt have out her on a list
her words got him through a hard day
he never want to go a day without her
“will you marry me?” Robert
‘‘I’m sorry our date was postponed, it should have been cancelled’‘
I almost cry. Willobert is real. It’s confirmed. It’s real. It’s not a trick. He is freaking in love.
I admit I was surprised he was so…undiplomatic. It was so unlike him. Don’t get me wrong Robert, does drop the “ever the gentleman, noble king” when he’s making a move or a point. He does it the Prime Minster, and the next potential PM, but those are people who have crossed him. Cassandra hasn’t crossed him, and she’s a good back-up plan, should things with Willow not pan out. Her family is also presumably powerful, so pragmatically, why make any enemy when you don’t have to. I don’t think he began that conversation with the intention of being so blunt. I think he was so moved by Willow, her idealism and her faith in him he very impulsively went “F*** it.” Oh Willobert you sustain me, you really do.
