While I appreciate that Hillary refuses to use the ridiculous term “radical Islamic terrorism,” I didn’t appreciate how EITHER candidate answered the question about Islamophobia. Talk about Muslim Americans only in terms of their value to “work” with law enforcement is not acceptable. Is that all I am to America? A tool to defeat terrorism? I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again and again: I will help the fight against terrorism just as much as my white neighbors, but holding me more accountable to “provide information” because of my faith, implies that Islam is linked with terrorism, and contradicts Hillary’s statement “we are not at war with Islam.”
Days before Belgium, there were two terror attacks you may not have heard about
The city of Brussels was rocked by explosions Tuesday morning, leaving at least 26 people dead and 130 others injured. Just days before all this, however, there were actually not one, but two bombings you may not have heard about — both in Turkey.
On March 13, a car bomb in the capital city of Ankara exploded leaving at least 37 people dead and more than 100 injured, according to the Turkish health ministry. On Saturday, an ISIS-connected suicide bomber killed at least four in a busy tourist area in Istanbul. Leaving many asking one question about the reaction.
You know how when you’re in a car and it’s pouring down rain, you go under a bridge and everything stops. Everything goes silent and it’s almost peaceful. Then you finally get from under the bridge, and everything hits you a litter harder than before. You were my bridge.
