“You said you’d always be there for me…so how did this happen? Why weren’t you there?” @thescorchingwarrior

“I meant to be. I did. It’s just been.. a difficult time. I’m sorry, Saskia.”
He ran a hand through his hair, uncertain. “Are you.. okay?”
“Am I Okay..? Loki, they tortured me for information on you, but I didn’t give in. How Can I Be Okay?!” Saskia fumed, holding her injured shoulder.
Loki’s expression shut down, a defensive move, all emotion leaving it. He cast a healing spell to help with the pain on her shoulder.
“I didn’t know. I didn’t know. Thank you?”
Saskia’s mind slowly processed that Loki just thanked her. She didn’t know what she expected him to say, but it wasn’t that. She wanted Loki to give some long appreciative speech and vow to be here for her instead of off in his own world and doing Odin knows what.
“I don’t know why I even bother anymore…” Saskia mumbled, turning away.
“Saskia?
Loki reached out to her then thought better of it, running to catch up to her instead.
“I’m so sorry I wasn’t here for you. I didn’t know that that had happened - I’m here now, though.”
Saskia gave Loki a disappointed glance. “You’ve told me that one too many times, Loki.” Saskia said with tears in her eyes, “I’m done.”
The words left Saskia’s mouth before she could catch them.
Loki’s head jerked back like she’d hit him.
It made sense that they were over. He had made too many mistakes, just like he always did, because he ruined everything good that ever happened to him-
But he didn’t know what he would do without her.
“That- I understand. I-I’m sorry.”
Saskia glanced at Loki sadly and began heading to the door.
The hurt she was feeling she couldn’t even put into words.
