Hiatus, Cricket Store, England vs India 1st Test, Upcoming Tournament

Last week I went to India to meet my relatives. I stayed there for ten days. Nevertheless, it was very boring there. The internet was very limited so I couldn’t complete my work and entertain myself that much. There weren’t many available channels on the TV and a few board games were there. I did not practice any cricket whatsoever and I’m pretty rusty now. 

However, that wasn’t to say that the India trip was a waste. I with the help of my father started a cricket store. We got the cricketing goods from India and will sell them here in my local area or state. This will boost my entrepreneur skills. I’m naming the store Bunny Sports and will advertise on this blog and on social media like Instagram.

So moving on to India vs England test series, the 1st test appears to be one of the most intense test matches I have watched. Usually, I put on a test match in the background while doing something else, however, in this match, I’m watching the innings without any distraction. In my prediction I think England will win the 1st test because of the swinging conditions and India having five wickets left.

There is a U17 Upcoming tournament this month and I will be taking some pictures of the tournament.

NYCL 2018

This week was the 2018 National Youth Cricket League tournament. The tournament consisted of teams all over the nation playing against each other. I played in the Under-16 division. 

I had a great time playing the tournament. Since my academy had an excess of players on their team I played for Washington and met new people! I also performed well in the tournament. I took four wickets in four games. In my first game, I got the man of the match award for my bowling. 

However, my team and I did not field well. Our team did many misfields and dropped many catches. This tournament made me learn that fielding is important as batting or bowling. If a bowler bowls an unplayable delivery and if the keeper doesn’t catch it then whats the use of the bowler bowling well if we won’t take wickets. 

We almost made the playoffs and if it weren’t for our fielding we could have definitely made it.

Also, in the NYCL banquet, I hosted a Be The Match Bone Marrow Registry.

Bone Marrow Donation

In the awards ceremony of the cricket tournament, I hosted a bone marrow donation. Around 12 people came. Here are two pictures below.

Cricket Tournament

This week there was a cricket tournament called the California Cricket Festival. In the tournament, our team played against four other teams. Unfortunately, we didn’t do as well as planned and got a low spot in the tournament. I didn’t perform well too. Next week, however, we are playing another tournament called National Youth Cricket League (NYCL). This is a T20 tournament. I hope our team does well and I do well too. I will be taking pictures and hosting a bone marrow registry donation there too.

First Post

Hello, and this is my first blog post! Let me talk about my introduction to cricket and myself. My introduction to cricket begins on the night of the 2011 World Cup Final between India and Sri Lanka. I didn’t really understand how the game works and wasn’t really interested. However, as I watched more matches I grew an interest towards the game, and soon attended cricket classes, where I later participated in games and tournaments. I am 15 years old who lives in the United States and is a right-arm fast bowler who bats in the lower-middle order. Here in this blog, you will see me talk about various cricket topics, my opinions, cricketing events, and me contributing to cricket in my community. There isn’t much support for cricket in the United States so I believe it is my duty to contribute at least in my local area. I’ll try to post every one to two weeks. Thanks for reading!
