B I G E D

I often tease @ezdawg079, calling him an elephant because he never forgets anything. the smallest details of our story, all the parts of his childhood, what I ate on our first date…it’s come to be something about him I treasure immensely, a special gift he’s been given and been able to give our family. a gift he’d likely not have had Big Ed not been his father.

you see, Eddie remembered all the details of eighty-two years of life. and the last time we visited, he shared another bit about his time with our big boys when they were tiny - something I’d long forgotten. that was the thing about him though, while yes, he remembered it all, he also wanted to share all the stories with you anytime you were near. time didn’t matter when he was telling a story, one would often roll into another + before you knew it you’d heard about two decades that connected perfectly together.

it’s no secret he doted on his wife for more than fifty years, an example Eric and I are so thankful to have. he cherished his kids - supporting their hobbies, encouraging them in their dreams, and instilling a work ethic not often seen these days. they love big, live loud, and have a fine appreciation for the appropriately placed cuss word - all because of him.

we’re devastated by the loss of our patriarch. we’re thankful for the time we had, for the chance to say goodbye, and for the complete healing he’s received. please carry Eric, his mother, and siblings close in the coming weeks - there’s a lot of healing to do earth side.

Eddie, I hope there was a six pack + a bowl of chili waiting for you. I’ll love you forever.
