Sakura: Hey, Lily… What’s Boruto? Is it like Naruto?
Lily: Don’t ask me! I just found out that Naruto ended in 2008 when I asked Kotaro if he could get the new ones so I could catch up.
Saki: What’s Naruto?
Lily: It’s a manga and an anime.
Saki: Like Hellsing or like Sailor Moon?
Tae: Sair Mn…
Ai: Somewhere in between. It had a lot of interesting action scenes, at least.
Junko: Was it anything like Fist of the North Star?
Sakura:
Lily:
Saki:
Ai:
Tae:
Junko: I meant “Nausicaa…”
Yugiri: *entering the room* Lady Lily, these shinobi in your illustrated books seem ill-equipped for the task of assassinating their targets without being noticed.

An idol in the making? That made Chris blink for a moment- she sounded like she’d fit right in at Lydian. But even then, she was already graduated and still wearing her uniform? Did she like it that much, or was it some kind of habit?
What a strange girl, Chris thought.
“The year?” That, too, wasn’t a question Chris had expected to hear. It struck her as odd at first, but then… it was pretty close to the end of the year, wasn’t it? It wasn’t so odd for someone to forget if it was already 2045. “Eh, that isn’t such a weird question. It’s twenty-forty-four. New year’s ain’t for another couple weeks, right?” She gave a shrug and carried on, thinking nothing of it.
“But an idol, huh? I know a couple of those. No way you haven’t heard of Tsubasa, right?” She hoped bringing up her connection with a world-renowned idol might help turn this girl’s near-constant frown upside down, at least. Surely, a shared interest would be the best way for them to connect, right?
The timing could have been good, but the answer to the question came like a surprise when you learnt that it was 2044.
“T-Twenty-forty-four?...” Both of your hands would rest on your chest just after your eyes widened; your jaw even dropping slightly while your nervous eyes trembled while looking to the ground.
Were you in the FUTURE?...it’s true that it could be way worse- the time difference with 2019 wasn’t as big as it could be, but it was still enough time for Franchouchou to be gone.
If you haven’t been around for that much time just...maybe you didn’t even have a place to go back to at this point, and that filled you with an anxiety that would’ve made your heart to race if it was still alive.
“Tsubasa?...n-no...I can’t say that I’ve heard about her before...did she become popular recently?...” Oh, great! Popular idols of nowadays will be a mystery until you actually learn about them. At this point, you were wondering if Chris was thinking that you got hit in the head to end up with amnesia or something.
“I guess I’m kind of a shut-in...I should be a little more...u-uh...attentive to the present...”
muse-matrix:
“Yep, I’ve got an apartment pretty close by- a lot closer than Kyushu, at least. I’m a student at Lydian, though I’m graduating next summer.” Chris put a hand to her chest, looking rather proud of herself- This girl probably hadn’t even heard of Lydian, but she didn’t think that detail was particularly important right now.
“And hey, it’s no problem. Helpin’ people is what I do.” The best she could do right now was make small talk and get this girl feeling more comfortable, right? That’s probably what the others would do, at least. So, beckoning Number 4 to follow, Chris set off on a slow walk back home.
“So, Four-san, you a student too?” Chris took a glance back at her charge, noting her attire- it definitely looked like a school uniform, though like any uniform she’d seen before… But then, she didn’t pay much attention to other schools anyhow. Maybe that was just how uniforms looked in Kyushu? “I don’t mean to pry, but it’d be a lot easier to get you on your way if there was someone we could get in contact with, y’know?”
“W-Wait, a student like you has an apartment all for yourself?” Or maybe she shared it with someone else? But the way she said it made you think it was all hers. Maybe you were speaking with someone of wealth here and you didn’t know. “Can’t say I heard of that Lydian school you’re talking about, but no matter.”
Starting to follow her with a steady pace but while looking down, you couldn’t help but bite your bottom lip slightly when she later asked about if you were a student yourself. Ah, you always thought that having you go around with an outfit like this wasn’t a good idea.
“I’m actually not a student...I graduated already even if I don’t look like it, I’m 19.” How to forget the age you died at when the plane accident was like four days after the last birthday you could celebrate?...it was crushing just to think about it- the hint of melancholy in your expression said enough, although, you usually had that sad expression on your face that was hard to wash off.
“I’m an idol.” Wait, no, you can’t say that! “W-Well, I would like to be an idol...that’s still a work in process.” Contact someone- if you could, you would contact Kotaro, but finding him was as difficult, not only because you didn’t know if he had a phone, but also because the areas he goes to are in Saga to start with. “I-I know this is going to sound weird but...what year is it?”
muse-matrix:
Avoid the authorities? That was definitely a red flag. A strange girl alone in Tokyo, with no possessions on her, trying to keep out of sights of the police was definitely something one would call suspicious in this day and age, especially with Noise no longer being a threat. But then…
Chris retracted her hand and blinked, then put her hand on her hip. She’d heard of cases where girls who were assaulted might avoid contacting the police for a while after, out of shame or fear. Chris didn’t want to make any assumptions- she didn’t even look injured, just confused- and her bizarre name wasn’t really helping her case either, but if this was something bad… Chris didn’t want to be insensitive.
“All the way in Kyushu? You really are a long ways from home, huh? …Alright, I dunno if I can take you that far, but we’ll see what we can do.” She gave a shrug, looking off in no direction in particular- Kyushu was half the country away, even if Saga was on the closer end of it. She couldn’t really call in a favor from HQ either, since Number 4 was only a civilian, as far as they were concerned, meaning options were limited. And then, there was the issue of her lack of possessions. If she didn’t even have an ID card, then she wouldn’t even be allowed on the trains.
“You’re one weird girl, Four-san. I’ll getcha to Saga one way or another, though.” She repeated, turning back to the girl with a mildly perplexed look on her face. “But first, you’re not gonna get anywhere if you don’t have anythin’ on you. Cash and an ID especially. It’s not like you’re gonna walk all the way to Kyushu, right?”
Chris folded her arms, taking a few moments to think about her next move… But nothing was coming to mind, short of asking someone to drive this girl halfway across the country. As if that would happen. So she shook her head briefly, resolving to figure out their next step a bit later. “Well, for now, I guess I could take you to my place. Probably better than being out on the streets, right?”
‘I can explain’, it’s what you would like to say, but bringing up the truth is just so risky that you didn’t have the guts to speak your mind out at the moment. God knows what idea the other girl is having of you after all of this- you may not look like someone who could commit a crime, but thinking you could’ve been kidnapped or something along the lines was already pretty messed up.
“It’s really far away, yeah...but you’re being really kind and helpful even when you didn’t need to be, so, thank you.” You couldn’t deny something, though, it’s not that you were weird, but your situation really put you in a weird place. If you were just dead you wouldn’t have to go through all this trouble that is piling on you.
Passing a hand by your hair, you looked to the side and then let your shoulders to relax slightly.
“That’s a really kind offer on your part...and with my position, I can’t really reject it...” Better at the house of someone that exposed in the street with nowhere to go. On the other hand, your anxiety was already telling you how other problems will arise the moment you live with this girl while finding a way back home.
Taking a bath...the makeup is waterproof, but scrubbing your body with a sponge and body gel will definitely remove it.
“S-So...where do you live, Chris?...are you a student from around here?”
clock-corpse:
Seeing the girl’s expression just made Sakuya chuckle a bit. Sakuya lowers her hand to reach under her skirt for her knife holster, but then retracts it. No, she wants to mess around with her just a little longer.
“Is that so? How peculiar. Normally when we have intruders on the grounds they either wish to covet our goods or cause harm to the mistress. Many of them being young girls just like yourself.” Time has now stopped. Sakuya walks over towards the girl so that she’s behind her. She puts her mouth up to her ear; and time starts flowing once again.
“So how do I know that you’re not lying?”
As if Sakuya’s gesture didn’t make you anxious...you could notice that she got her hand under her skirt for a moment, and for some reason all you are expecting is for her to get a knife out in order to kill you, just like in some kind of horror movie.
But she didn’t, and kept talking to try and scare you even more, even if you were already terrified.
“I-I promise I’m not here to take anything...I don’t even know who your Mistress is and...i-it’s the first time I’m here too-” Not even back home you’ve had a life in which you’ve had to steal from others, and you didn’t look much like it, either.
But just as the woman was in front of you, she disappeared without a word and, just a second afterwards she was leaning from behind, close to your ear to whisper something while fear simply froze you even more.
“H-Hmh...” The most natural reaction to have even when you still couldn’t answer how’s that she disappeared like that...run.
You knew no exit, but you were going to run and you weren’t going to stop.
What's the worst part of being a zombie?
“I guess it’s the fact that normal people get scared of us if they find out what we are, because their first reaction is always trying to kill or hurt us...then there’s also the fact we have to be confined inside the Mansion except for when we have to go out for a performance...” In a sense, being so confined isn’t all that different from when you lived as an idol when alive. Always hiding from people, keeping your life to yourself, and giving an image to the public of being this kind of perfect and unreachable woman...
“I also don’t like how my body looks...it’s kinda depressing to look at myself and see that my body had to be put back together like this, or the fact that I’m dead.”
Pills here! Hmm? Guys, there is one here! *readies gun*
Whatever this is, YOU’RE NOT GOING TO GET SHOT TODAY.

“Call someo-? No, no, I was gonna look up directions to your place. But uh, Saga? Can’t say I’ve heard of that place before, uhhh…” She tapped her phone a few times before frowning at it, letting out a sigh as she replaced it back in her pocket. She could understand not wanting to give her address to a stranger, but just how far from home was this girl…?
“Well, I can’t really help you if I don’t know where your home is… We could always try askin’ the authorities for help- I wouldn’t feel great lettin’ another girl try to find her own way home anyways.” Chris rubbed the back of her head, then extended a hand out towards the other girl. At the very least, she’d see this girl find her way to wherever this Saga place was. “If it’s alright with you, I don’t mind keepin’ you company until you get home. Sound good to you, Four-san?”
So you could even look up at directions from a phone?...that really put the privacy of people at risk, didn’t it? Just like Kotaro told you once about information spreading too fast nowadays.
But more scared then giving a non-existent proper direction to someone, the mention of going to get help from the authorities made you feel even more anxious. God knows you would be shot again if the police found out what you were, and you didn’t want to risk that again.
“Could we avoid contacting the authorities? I-It’s nothing big, really. I just need to find a way back to Saga...it’s a prefecture, in the northwest of Kyushu.” Eventually. With no money of your own, that was going to be difficult, and the fact you got used to hide yourself wasn’t going to make it any better.
But wanting to avoid the authorities may sound too suspicious...so you were hoping that Chris wasn’t thinking of the worst. With her offering a hand, you didn’t know how to really respond aside of looking down at it and blinking once- not reciprocating the gesture but accepting the offer.
“That’s fine as long as I don’t become a burden for you. I would feel bad...specially when I don’t have anything on myself at the moment.” No money, no phones, not even an ID card. Guess things were just getting weirder by the minute.
Also, I have to mention. Junko's body as a zombie is all stitched over- and the different stitched areas have different colors, yes? Plane accidents are brutal and leave people into lots of pieces.
Junko is formed by the skin of the different passengers that were in the plane, not just hers.
muse-matrix:
Number 4? What kind of a name was that? Could she be some kind of Autoscorer? Or was she just a particularly eccentric girl? Questions piled on in Chris’ head, and now that she got a good look at this girl… She couldn’t help but be surprised by how similar they looked. They only real difference was their eye color and choice of fashion- even their hair was done in the same way.
“Uh, yeah, this is Japan. If my name sounds weird, it’s probably cause I’m half American. But we’re definitely in Japan.” This girl was getting stranger by the second. But, well, she needed help, right?
“Well… Where do you live, uh, Number 4? You can’t be too far from home if you’re alone, right?” She asked, slipping her phone out from her pocket and pulling up a navigational app. “What’s your address?”
It actually even took you a moment to realize that the girl in front of yourself was possibly a student. If you were in Japan, the uniform definitely looked weird, but you could be even weirder when you were still wearing an older uniform even when you died as an adult with an idol career on the making.
The fact you were a zombie, though, didn’t make you question a lot of the things that you were trying to assimilate at the moment, even if it was difficult not to bring some things up.
“I think I could actually be quite far away, because this doesn’t look like Saga at all...are we in Tokyo?...” Or perhaps another of the bigger cities. Compared to Saga this was too much.
But what could you say? You lived in a Mansion that was supposedly abandoned! If you gave strict directions you will make the situation even worse.
“I need to go back to...Saga...” Oh, the sight of a modern phone still threw you off a little. It took you time to even get used to what a computer was, and even if it isn’t the first time you saw one of those phones, you were definitely staring at it again as if it was the strangest thing in the world. “Will you call someone?”
菊池桃子 - mystical composer (1986)
clock-corpse:
A lost and confused human girl has somehow found herself lost in the Scarlet Devil Mansion. The Devil’s Servant wears a sinister smile on her face as she slowly and quietly stalks her prey from above. Flying at an angle so that she would not see her.
Slowly, she descends to the ground a bit behind the girl. She could do her job and just kill her right now, but where was the fun in that? “Oh? What’s this? A lone and naive girl has found herself into our residence? Are you perhaps a burglar, or are you just a lost poor soul?”
Needless to mention that the feeling of being watched and followed wasn’t all too wrong. Not too long after crossing yet another hallway, the strange woman landed behind you all silently until speaking and making you jump in response; another chill going down your spine before you could turn around to look at her.
That look in her eyes...and what she said. It was obvious that she wanted to play around with you.
“N-No, Miss...I’m actually just lost...it would be rude of me if I came here to steal something.” Would your words have enough power to change the other’s mind, either way? Probably not, but by the tone of your voice and the hesitation, it was obvious you were really scared at the moment. “If you are so kind as to show me the way out...I will just get away from here...”
muse-matrix:
“Hey, you lost or something?” Came a voice from behind the wayward idol, originating from a girl that looked uncanny levels of similar- even their hair was the same shade of white. She was dressed in what looked like a school uniform, carrying a school case over her shoulder with one hand, her other hand placed on her hip.
“My name’s Chris. Are you lost?” She repeated her question, peering curiously at the girl. “Are you from out of town, or do you live here? I can help you out, if that’s fine with you.”
At first you were so lost in thought and in your worry that you almost didn’t notice the voice of the other girl, but it didn’t take too long for you to actually turn around when she got your attention.
The appearance of the other woman was so close to yours that you couldn’t help but freeze and fall silent for a moment while looking at her from top to bottom; a hand going to rest on your chest before finally answering.
“I think I’m lost.” The fact the other’s name sounded rather foreign just made you even more confused. Maybe you weren’t in Japan after all? “You are really kind, Chris...is this Japan by any chance?...I guess you can call me Number 4.” You probably were sounding like a lunatic.

From one place to another...you really wanted to go back ‘home’ even if your life as a zombie so far has been really weird in general. Worrying about schedules was nothing compared to the fact you really wanted to go back to Japan with the rest.
Did something...go wrong when they tried to send you back?
They told you it was going to BE Japan, but the place is completely different to how you remember it...close, but not quite the same.
“W-Where am I this time?...everything feels so unfamiliar...”
