I have an idea. So there’s the “Bubble = BubbleBoy virus” theory which is connected to said idea. What if, and bear with me here, Zooble brought Bubble into the circus before being put inside it as an attempt to shut the system down? It’s clear C&A may not be entirely as it seems. And especially since Goose said Bubble is “a very special boy” (at least I think they did, my memory isn’t very good) and the BubbleBoy virus was also a very special virus(as you all probably know). And the creator of the virus was someone called Zulu, I believe(correct me if I’m wrong). And perhaps Bubble has been slowly getting more power from Caine and getting into his head more and more, causing him to lose his sanity as time went on. And as Caine became less stable, Bubble was able to multiply faster without Caine being able to stop him. And even if he tried, Bubble would simply come back. Just like the virus. And I’m also going to extend upon the theory that Bubble causes the abstractions by saying that Bubble, being a virus, is made to destroy things and ruin systems.

Also, you may be wondering why I included Zooble in this. I think that maybe Zooble did put the virus into the computer(as I stated earlier) that TADC is inside of because they knew something wasn’t right. And that could also be why Caine hates Zooble so much. Caine knows what Zooble did, and thus dislikes them, just like how he treats Kinger better than the others because he (presumably) was one of the creators of the circus. That could also be the reason why Zooble hasn’t abstracted yet despite quite a few things being stacked against them. Zooble brought Bubble into the circus, so Bubble is showing “gratitude” in some sick way, keeping Zooble around so they could watch the circus collapse as Caine loses his mind. (Plus, Zooble and Zulu sound scarily alike.)

And Bubble could perhaps have gotten so deep into the circus thus far to the point where not even Caine can distinguish whether or not Bubble is a virus or a part of the circus. The further Bubble’s control reaches, the less Caine has, the more Caine goes insane, and the less stable the circus becomes. Plus, Bubble acts more different as time goes on.

But let me know what y’all think about this! I just randomly thought of all this out of nowhere.
