"Me? A guide?" Rico became flustered. She'd never been asked something like this before. "Well," she brought out a silver pocket watch and continued. "My shift is over right about now." In fact, it had been over for a while: she'd been strolling up and down the Wall mulling over things in her minds for about half and hour now. "There's a forest just down there," Rico stated, gesturing to a clump of green not so far away. "But I need to get some more gas if we wish to descend the wall."

Freya blinked as the she watched Rico pull out a notepad. She hadn’t expected the woman to ask her personally. Inwardly, she practically sighed. All she wanted was to return back to her room and spend the remaining daylight hours inside the small amount of space she had been granted. At least, spend it until her roommate showed up. 

However, Freya knew that running off to get someone else to tell the woman what they had discovered on their journeys beyond the wall. So, she decided to just inform her of what they had found in her squad and continued on her way. Simple and it took less time. Meaning there was more grains of sand in her hourglass labeled ‘Free Time’.

Deciding to cooperate, Freya saluted to Rico as she started providing the woman with information.

"Well, we’ve been going out with a few other squads here and there," she started. “But haven’t found that much. The only things that we’ve discovered so far were two titans that were able to jump over the walls. Both have been successfully killed with minimal damage and casualites. They crawled like a spider and jumped like a frog. Other than that, not much else to report."

Nodding, Rico noted down what Freya said. It seemed to be the same as all the rest of the other squads Rico had inspected - relatively normal. Everything seemed to be rather quiet after the defense of Trost. 

However, at the mention of a new abnormal, Rico lifted her head up in shock. "Ones that could jump over the wall you say?" The only ones with extraordinary abilities like that were... shifters. So does that mean that there were more besides the five already discovered? Jeez... as if her job wasn't hard enough.

"That's quite bad news. How tall would you say they were? And was the weak point on the back of the neck still successful in terminating them?" It would certainly be bad news if the weak point was ineffective. In fact, Rico was pretty sure that it'd be the end of humanity as we know it. That weak point was the only weapon humanity had against the Titans.

"Easy with that! I'll get black blood on my shirt if ya stab me with that blade." The white haired male held his hands at either side of his head and laughed. "Name's Zero." He responded with a calm smile. "Honestly, you have no manners when people decide to stumble here." The brunette male came and flicked Zero's forehead. "My name is Hasani. Who might you be exactly?" The male questioned with a polite bow. "Outside where?" That location didn't seem familiar to him in the slightest. "Well, wherever that is, there must have been a portal you stumbled across and ended up here." Hasani began to mutter as he pondered reasons for the woman's sudden appearance. "Whatever the reason she's here, I don't care. What matters," Zero narrowed his eyes at the female, grinning eerily again. "Is if she poses as a threat or not. It'd be a shame if there had to be a corpse."

"...Zero, shut up." Hasani sighed. "Don't be scaring them now. That's not nice."

Realizing she was way over her head in here, she figured it would be best to just go along with the two. She sighed and slid her blades away.

"My name is Rico Brzenska, Corporal of the Garrison. I was instructed to search a forest outside of Karanese." Rico showed them the report she had received, that detailed her orders. "For some reason, I've ended up here, in... what did you call it? The forest of nightmares?" Sighing, she absentmindedly tapped on her 3D maneuver gear.

"You two don't seem to have bad intentions, so I'll stick with you. Where can I get out of here?" Looking around at the forest, she licked her dry lips. "I don't like being in places I don't know anything about."

It was probably the best for humanity to have some soldiers like Rico who possessed a good amount of healthy enthusiasm. Unfortunately, it was rather uncommon outside the Scouting Legion, which was actually quite troublesome when the worst cases occured.  This was an attidute Irvin had to respect as fellow soldier.  "Ah, excellent. So I assume Dot Pixis is still healthy and lively as always? I didn’t have the opportunity yet to ask about his well-being in the last letters we’d exchanged." His voice was calm as always, his face rather stiff.  It wasn’t in his interest to remain silent if he could have a nice chitchat - not that the man enjoyed talking while being on duty, but it was fairly easy to obtain information this way.  Humans were predictable and talkative after all - and it was still some time left.  "I assume we should hurry, then. It’s not my wish to be late to my official appointment with him. We both have more work to do afterwards. Besides, I don’t want to distract you too much from your own work, Miss Brzenska."

It'd been a while since Rico had walked across a large stretch of the Wall - she'd been mainly preoccupied with the operations of repair following the skirmish between the Titan shifters. Although not the most entertaining of operations, it pleased her to see all the soldiers working together. During missions, that usually wasn't the case - in fact, usually it was chaos, since the Garrison had become so rusty after years of a lack of practice against Titans. 

"How are your missions outside of the wall going, sir? Commander Pixis has been keeping rather quiet about them." In fact, he'd been rather quiet since Eren's trial - which he refused to attend. He'd been pouring over charts and maps in his study since then: he usually didn't come out of there unless it was for is walk. Which was why it was so important that they catch him whilst he was out.

"Why did I join?" The simple answer was because Eren and Armin did, and Mikasa wanted to be with them. And although it was the truth, she supposed she did have some more personal motivation, due to Rico’s line of questioning.

Enjoying the unknown…This could still be somewhat blamed on Armin. Mikasa did want to see something different. Something fascinating…she could adjust to any mundane environment over time, but coming in contact with the extraordinary…

How far away were they from the wonders of this world?

"…The things you said…are correct." So Mikasa thinks, “I’m interested in the world outside the walls. I’m not…I don’t concern myself with ‘unexpected circumstances.’ Perhaps I’m arrogant. Or perhaps I have too much faith in my comrades." The soldier is almost smiling.

Noticing the tug of a smile on the black-haired girls' face, Rico realised she was doing the same. Perhaps Mikasa wasn't so unpleasant after all - but then again, she still couldn't be completely pleasant. Someone that cold and efficient had to have some demons... and Rico didn't particularly want to discover them. 

"Too much faith? I don't think there is such a thing. If we're ever going to defeat the Titans, then we'll need to work together. Soldiers these days have optimism - but it's all for their own gain. They want to kill the Titans. They want to reclaim lost land. But it's never we want." Chuckling, she continued. "Not that I'm not guilty - I'm too much of a coward to lay down my life for someone else... Well. There was one person. But they're gone now."

"But I don't think you're the same. I've seen your eyes when you're fighting with... him." The topic of Eren made Rico's anger flare. "You must have a very close relationship with him."

"Well, Rivaille was the person who hurt Eren. So it's only natural to assume you'd want to take action against someone who hurt... someone very close to you." Even though Rico didn't know the circumstances of their relationship: it was evidently a close one. "When I'm feeling down I like to go for a walk... there's this forest near Karanese I like to go to." Rico shrugged. "I don't know if you like nature... but it might help."
