Saw a cool leaf today… that’s it

So I forgot to post this Saturday. I was too tired. Well, Saturday was Free Comic Book Day. It was a chaotic day so we only went to five stores this year (usually got to like eight, which is a lot but also it's an experience). Still managed to get almost all the free comics (missed three; Creaky Acres, The Best of 2000AD, and Valiant Zombies Resurrection). Oh well it was still fun.

I got 45 free comics, though I was most excited for the Thundercats & Powerpuff Girls one. High school me would've been foaming at the mouth. I also got a foam minecraft sword, temp tattoos, and a bookmark for free. The sword and tats are going to some neighborhood kids, the bookmarks for me.

I, of course, bought some stuff. I will say, I probably spent less this year just because there wasn't much I truly wanted. It happens. I save money for it just in case. I never go in just to spend. But I like having the ability to. It's really the only day of the year I really get comics and nerd out.

So I got three Star Wars Hot Wheels, 14 stickers, a Deadpool keychain from a local artist, a Stormtrooper action figure, and 8 Heroclix. I also got a Zuko action figure and a Daffy Duck funko, who wasn't broken when I got him. But the dude at the store (which I won't name because I have class) through him in a bag with some of my mom's heavy graphic novels and I didn't notice and he broke. So now I have to super glue him.... ugh. Anywhosits, I also got "American Vampire: Book One", "The Conjuring: The Lovers", both book one and two of "The Nice House on the Lake", "Skinner", issue one and two of Magic the Gathering comics, "Punk Rock in Comics", "Punk Rock Jesus", "Something is Killing the Kids", "Minor Arcana", "Nomads", "Ajin", "Monster High Halloween Special", and "Monster High Pride". Oh, plus four posters.

Plus my mom did this for me for the day. It's a diamond art standee figure of Cheer Bear. It's cute.

I had a nice day, despite a broken figure, a few douchey people, and kids screaming "Chicken Jockey!" with the stupid minecraft sword and - painfully - running into people. Still enjoyed it.

Today’s my 30th birthday! 🎂 I didn’t do drops for my birthday week this year. Sorry. To tell you the truth, I forgot. It’s been a chaotic time right now, soooooo… anywhosits, happy birthday to me! 😁

Just got done watching the Porky & Daffy movie. Loved it. Had the entire theatre to ourselves.

So just got confirmation that my food allergy from childhood still exists. Certain watermelon flavored food causes fun reactions - itchy swollen neck (still can breathe), dizziness, and nausea. And the fun thing is it’s not all watermelon flavored things, so it’s like a surprised whenever I try something new. The current list is watermelon Kool-aid, watermelon airheads, and now watermelon sour punch bites. I just spent the night and most of the morning with a cold washcloth on my neck and chugging water. Thankfully I think it’s all done now. But holy crap still sucks.

So I’m pretty sure it’s obvious by now I live in the USA. So today is Thanksgiving. Whether you celebrate it or not, happy thanksgiving.

Also I know today is going to be tough for a lot of people this year - and probably the following few years. Stay safe. Stay calm. And remember that I’m thankful you are here. If anything, I’m thankful you exist. You got this. 🙂👍

So i tried to make something for Halloween, but I don’t know if it’s s4s or blender, but nothing is working right for me the past few days. So sorry. No treats from me this year. I tried. Happy Halloween, Samhain, and belated Ace Week

I won’t be doing 13 Days of Simbiote this year. It’s been too chaotic of a month here in florida to focus on making anything. Sorry. I’m just too tired

We have like no gas north of Tampa. Talked to one owner of a small gas station and he said he was supposed to get some yesterday (Thursday) at 5 am. He got the call and everything. He was ready and they never showed up. Ignore whatever Desantis is saying about not having a gas shortage because that’s bullshit. Some gas stations up here are even out of diesel, which never happens. It’s that bad. I haven’t seen any tankers even on the roads and I normally do. Desantis is saying we should be able to get back to work and school and such soon, but that can’t happen if we don’t have any gas to drive there!

We finally have gas up here! Thankfully. People have been fighting up here over gas. Someone even pulled a gun on a teenage worker. It was getting crazy up here. We are more than an hour from any of those free gas things Desantis is so proud of and no one up here would’ve made it. So we had no relief up here for days. Thankfully it looks like a little bit of normalcy is starting to return

POWERS BACK ON!

So just woke up and still no power. I’m waiting until it’s light outside to see the damage. My mom and I took everything in but one of my neighbors refused. And he had a swing set that’s not bolted to the ground. I’m afraid to see outside. We got really bad winds up here. Like really bad winds. We were lucky to not be in the eye of the storm. And we aren’t beside water so we don’t have storm surges. But it still got bad. It truly felt worse that Irma and that sucker went right over me.

Some good news my family and I are safe and accounted for. My mom got a bit panicky but I understand. Mooney hid mostly (poor baby) though came out for bed time to sleep on my moms bed. And Dixon was hyper af most of the night, again understandable. But everyone is fine and alive. Now to check on my neighbors when it gets light.

Update: everyone’s fine. A lamp post is side ways and no one has power but everyone’s alive. One of my mom’s friends in Sarasota can’t find her pet ducks. Hoping they’re okay and just hiding

Power keeps going off and on in my house. It’s truly a lovely not at all terrifying experience. Especially as I try to fix a hole in my lanai window, so rain doesn’t poor in and start flooding.
