The ever-reliable duck call:
does anyone else remember this dead by daylight pyramid head video set to mr. blue sky? it starts with fast cuts of pyramid head performing his mori to the rhythm of the song, and at one point there's a meme of emperor palpatine saying "do it". please help me, i have no idea whose video it was and i can't find it and i'm going crazy
There are many fun reasons to have a character avoid using guns, but I think "this otherwise-awesome fighter is a really terrible shot" is an underappreciated one. Yes, they're available in my setting and would work against my enemies. No, I don't have a moral code against them or a power that makes them redundant. I just can't aim for shit!
In general IMO the more badass and hypercompetent a character is, the more they're enriched by having one skill they're just absolutely hopeless at. Terrible shot, terrible liar, terrible dancer, no poker face, no sense of direction, can't drive, can't swim, can't cook, can't read, always broke, always late, always falls for a certain trick...

bud you disabled comments
I disabled my comments section because it was full of bots trying to scam people
how someone sets their boundaries has absolutely nothing to do with censorship.
censorship is when someone tries to control other people what they can or can’t create and consume.
censorship is not about a random person disabling their own comments section for whatever reason. censorship is not about people blocking other people on social media as their way of setting boundaries and curating their internet experience. censorship is not about disrespecting other people’s boundaries and censorship is not about tolerating it when other people disrespect you or your boundaries.
so your comment is entirely irrelevant to the point. I say censorship is bad. you say but the sky is not green.
wait were the first characters announced for the bleach x granblue fantasy collab after ichigo really kenpachi and mayuri
giggles and kicks my feet
i DO believe that a good writer can make mischaracterization work. oh there's a character who doesn't normally cry? figure it out!! disect the character. make the situation cryable for them. make that character cry ugly tears even if it goes against their very nature. YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!
A great piece of advice I've seen is "Don't fixate about what the character would never do. Think about the circumstances that would drive them to do this, even if they wouldn't normally."
Best advice ever!
The catnip is blooming and Vice is reminding everyone how he earned his name.
Blorbo Introduction Time -- Kind of another niche character, though maybe not quite as bad off as Ommadon in terms of obscurity. But mulling and musing over the Red Wizard kinda made me think back to this guy and reminded me how much I loved this character.
You may have seen me making mentions of the Horned King! He's kinda one of Disney's more obscure villains -- some peeps consider him as, like, the epitome of most intense villain alongside Chernabog, Frollo and Shan-Yu -- every scene he's in, he carries this aura of absolute dread and fear. Others consider him one of the weaker for not not really doing much -- we HEAR characters talk at length of how terrible he is, but we never get to see what makes him so bad, beyond everyone crapping their pants whenever he is around, and the climax of the movie where he gets the titular object, but never really has a chance to actually do anything with it. And he gets kinda anticlimactically killed by said object.
Love him or hate him. Disney themselves are a bit shy in regards to The Black Cauldron -- so the movie had a really rocky development history, and they wanted to go a darker route with their films. But then-newly appointed CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg(I think?) saw what they were doing, deemed it all too intense, and cut 12 minutes from the movie.
The movie was STILL considered intense at the time. Between that and it being too different from the books it was based on, the movie nearly spelled the end of Disney. And it wasn’t until The Little Mermaid that they found their footing again. The Black Cauldron itself was one of those movies that came REALLY close to being vaulted, which has only ever happened with one movie(Song of the South). They're... SORTA coming around to the movie, though I feel like it's more of an acknowledgement through gritted teeth sorta thing. 😅
Personally, I find the movie very enjoyable -- it didn't have the same hold on me as The Lion King did as a kid, but I enjoyed it. And in later years I kinda developed a certainappreciation for the movie -- it was bold at the time in a different sense as compared to Hunchback of Notre Dame. And even now, it still stands as being sorta bold for what they TRIED to do.
As for the Horned King himself -- HoKi! -- I got aa bit of sentimentality for the guy because he's arguably what got me into writing in the first place, between RP and Fic... Even though a lot of fics I did write was amateur smut between him and Maleficent. 😅
... Kinda want to write something between those two and Ommadon now. 😋
But also, him just being another one of those Mohg shaped kinda guys!
oh, i've seen the black cauldron, though it was so long ago that i barely remember anything about it - except that the horned king was Very Cool and Handsome :3 maybe i should give it another watch one of these days, since i indeed remember almost nothing of it!
imagine if my upstairs neighbors were ever quiet. wouldn't that be crazy haha
I think a fandom becomes more interesting when people are allowed to explore uncomfortable ideas instead of pretending they don't exist
You just teleported to the last movie you watched! how is it going?

if you have a problem with any of the fictional pairings that i enjoy on the internet, for the low cost of $9,000 you can pay me to care about what you think
i have [gestures vaguely] my tendencies
wrote an incredibly self-indulgent line today that got me extremely flustered. and naturally when trying to figure out how to cool myself off my initial response was to say "i'm dj normal" to myself
i was literally just thinking the other day that it's a shame that this particular look of mayuri's (which i quite like) only appeared very briefly in the epilogue and we'll probably never see it again even if we do get the hell arc as he already has a new look, and then bleach mirror's high posts this
biting him. biting him biting him biting him biting him
