Facebook to ‘die’ on Guy Fawkes day
Facebook has been issued a death threat... The web has been abuzz as 'Anonymous' the internet hacking group has declared their intention to “kill” the site on November 5th in protest over the networking site’s privacy for users.
Hacktivist group 'Anonymous' posted a video warning of the Guy Fawkes night attack, saying: ‘Facebook knows more about you than your family...your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed,” says the video, adding that the site invades the privacy of all its 750 million users. An electronically masked voice goes on to invite like-minded people to join the “cause”.
‘If you are a willing hacktivist or a guy who just wants to protect the freedom of information then join the cause and kill Facebook.’
Internet security expert Eugene Kaspersky wrote on Twitter that the attack warning was ‘probably fake’. A spokesman for Facebook declined to comment.
Since the declaration of murder 'Anonymous' has denied claims that it wants to destroy Facebook, saying the whole thing ‘has been a misunderstanding’.
However I would still suggest backing up your incredibly embarrassing photos and posting an insignificant update to your status
