I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

The humbling of Endeavor

One of great subtle things about Endeavor’s character arc has been how his actual behavior towards his children has lagged behind his big shift in intentions. Along with being an evil bastard generally, early Endeavor was notable for his arrogance. After Shoto used his fire against Deku in sports festival, he instantly assumed that his son had come around.

Since the taking the No.1 spot, Endeavor has realized his responsibilities as a hero and father, that much is certain. Even so, his single-mindedness and overconfidence trip him up.

Even we, the readers, can understand where Endeavor is coming from, it’s obvious that he has absolutely no right whatsoever to push his new “self” on Shoto like that. Just like with his hero career, Endeavor believes that he can solve the problem through sheer force of will.

Becoming No. 1 was like a shock to Endeavor’s system, leading him to strive for a different goal as a hero. That new development, however, only exists within his old framework of interacting with the world. Although he slowly becomes more sensitive towards the issue, we still see his arrogance pop up.

First, he decides for himself that he “deserves” to be given a chance by Shoto.

Second, he feels entitled to play the father figure to Natsuo, despite doing nothing to earn that.

Third, he does the same to Shoto. Endeavor assumes he already knows Shoto’s intentions and aspirations as a Hero.

With the most recent chapter, after a fight to the death with High-End and a failure to make things right with the family, Endeavor has finally broken out of this mindset.

Just the visuals speak volumes. Down on his knees with his fearsome flame armor deactivated, he lays everything out on the table. He admits to his terrible deeds and makes it clear to Natsuo that he’ll never deserve forgiveness from him. Even so, he reaffirms that he’ll do whatever he can to atone for what he’s done. He’s letting himself be vulnerable in a way that’s quite extraordinary for the character he once was.

As a result, Endeavor has become truly humbled. But, as a famous bald-headed man once said, “When we reach our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change”. With Endeavor making the decision to sacrifice his own role in the family to help Rei, Fuyumi, Natsuo and Shoto to live together, it seems like that moment has finally arrived.
