my kind of detailed , and dumb omar romero headcanons
so, idk if yall could tell i was absolutely batshit crazy about this guy! he is one of my fictionkins AND my f/o's, so i js figured i should make one of these, for fun, but to maybe also add some more context to my RP blog.
also, i kinda just needed a space to dump a bunch of my yapping in.. hehe ...
this isnt the best because god forbid i know how to organize my hcs and write them properly.. so im sorry if this all seems like one brick wall to u.. i havent written stuff like this before 0_o, writing is a thing i have only recently picked up, so this is very awkward .. also im swearing a lot in this lol.
so, here's ig a trigger warning?
mentions of mental neglect, basically the negligence of ur child's mental health, and mentions of verbal abuse. i think thats it.
starting off with basic information
✩ omar's age in my opinion would be about 17
( i assign characters birthdays depending on their personality which leads me to assign them zodiac signs. its cheesy but FUN!!! )
✩ omar is of course, an aries. the most chaotic lil guy ever. also idk i just always saw him as a spring guy.
✩ more specifically his bday would be april 4, because.. well. april 4 is national rat day. an unofficial but rlly silly celebration. also its 3 days after april fools sooooooo heheh………
✩ omar has ADHD.
( thats me projecting my ADHD onto him guys )
✩ he WILL socialize first, whether it be to greet you normally (he'd never) or to get on your nerves (he'd always).
✩ an important trait i want to talk about- he is a kleptomaniac. just. ofc. 100%. this is obviously kinda canon because he HAS probably mugged people and often complains about people being harder to mug nowadays because they carry card, not cash, and due to gas station pumps being replaced with ATMs, he cant really rob easy money off of peeps anymore.
✩ though he STILL.. does it. if something valuable to you goes missing, you might wanna check HIS pockets.. if he even lets you…….
✩ his handwriting is the WORST and probably similar to that of a caveman's.
✩ pulls too many allnighters. his sleep schedule is a 50/50 and he's either sleeping 14 hours, 8 hours, or 2.
✩ OMAR IS PANSEXUAL OOOOOOOOOOOOOOURAAAAAAAAAAAAGHH!!!!
✩ well, his name definitely doesnt sound american and i can see him having mixed nationalities due 2 his parents or something
✩ i headcanon his mother is irish and his father is spanish
(no im not headcanoning him as irish just because he is a pretty ginger and has green eyes. it just fits right with me idk hehe)
✩ also omar speaking spanish is just really fucking funny to picture so YES. its always been a fav trope of mine to see an english-speaking character speak in another language that they learnt from family members <3
✩ irish stew because I FUCKING PROJECT. in general, he would be a sucker for stew.
✩ he also really likes potatos. like, any kind. baked, mashed, in fries/chips or wedges.. he just absolutely loves potatos. and this includes potato chips/crisps. BECAUSE I PROJECT ONTO HIM YET AGAIN!!!
✩ his favorite brand would be ruffles or pringles
✩ he'd also really enjoy fried chicken i fear..
✩ his favorite drink is literally just any energy drink. but if he had to choose, it'd be redbull.
✩ but also he enjoys peach juice and mango juice. he likes sweet fruits in general.
✩ his favorite fruit would be guava, pineapple, and mango
✩ yes he'd be a bit childish when it comes to snacks. i can picture him enjoying children's candies like sour patch kids, chupa chups, twizzlers M&M's, skittles and also pop rocks, but also he'd for some reason be a chewing gum connoisseur. and the reason why? its because candys in packs are super easy for him to steal.
✩ he wouldn't mind eating greasy stuff like burgers but he would still prefer candy over it.
✩ he is often outside and hangs out with other townies so he doesnt go home often, especially not to spend time alone, but also he HAS picked up on a few questionable interests.
✩ he likes animals. like, especially the stray ones around the city. he absolutely loves the weirder animals like rats ofc, cockroaches..?? and he also loves raccoons and is absolutly crazy about them and wishes to meet one (THATS ME PROJECTING HEAVILY ONTO HIM!!!!!!!!)
✩ his favorite animals, are obviously rats. and also, he hyperfixates on them for undisclosed reasons.
✩ hes not an expert on animals obviously, i think hes just absolutely fucking stupid and just really likes them for some reason.
due to his friend group he has also joined another common interest of theirs. he likes listening to music.
✩ well this was kinda obvious since the townies have a bit of a specific metal theme going around with their outfit style if im correct..?? but i feel like omar would be really big on listening to music.
✩ he has a few quotes where he has made references to other pop culture media but also a handful of song references.
✩ two obvious examples are "Me Tarzan, You Jane!" and "In the navy.. you can sail the seven.. seas…."
those are not metal but if he's referencing music that has been going around for a while, he's probably a lot more open-minded about music in my opinion :D! i headcanon he'd enjoy electronic and also disco, but he wouldn't mind listening to nu-metal sometimes
✩ omar's music taste, is absolute fucking TRASH
i mean, a few big nu-metal bands he'd probably listen to is Limp Bizkit (Omar lmao), Linkin Park (Omar based) and Papa Roach (Omar based)
I don't know why, but i feel like he'd be the biggest Nickelback hater.
✩ one of his more casual favorite activities to do with his friends is listen to music with them, watch action movies, play video games, and read comics with them. except for the last one he ends up fidgeting and gets carried away than actually reading the fucking thing, so that doesnt really count.
✩ i can imagine him listening to green day with zoe, linkin park with duncan and literally ANYTHING with gurney.. :].. and these three are probably the only townies who even bother giving him their time to actually listen to music 2gether because every time Omar has tried to convince other townies to listen to music with him, they're either arguing about which band is better, if the song is trash or not, or which genre of music is better.
✩ anyways. as for action movies YES he's so me fr he would enjoy a lot of them. the terminator 1 and 2 movies, (I FUCKING PROJECT AGAIN!), top gun. fight club, any fast & furious movie (He says theyre not garbage but they actually kinda are) and karate kid.
he probably cried to the titanic when he was home alone and he'd still take that secret with him to the grave, hoping nobody ever finds out.
✩ video games.. oh boy omar should NOT have his hands on a computer.
thank god hes constantly outside anyway but, omar is probably absolutely cracked at fighting and FPS for some goddamn reason. he would probably play video games with his friends knowing he's better than them, just so that he can make them rage and feel better about himself <3
✩ and dont get me started on fps. he doesnt have many video games but he owns a select few that he really loves. he would enjoy older boomer shooters like DOOM and Duke Nukem (I PROJECT!) probably even Wolfenstein 2D and from fighting games he'd like Mortal Kombat (just because he always beats Clint at it), and also Street Fighter.
unironically he'd love lollipop chainsaw and postal 2 i think. thats just me projecting, im sorry.
✩ omar really hates spending his time all alone because he easily gets bored and sad when he doesnt have anyone. hes very much a people-person . so he'd basically ask ANYONE, even people he barely talks to, to hang out, if he finds them decent enough. but if ur a townie he'd absolutely spam u sorry not sorry. omar is a social piece of shit what can i do about it
moving on from the smaller things to the bigger stuff!
✩ omar's personality is heavily influenced by his childhood i feel. he wasn't disciplined enough, or well.. looked into enough as a kid. he was obvious a lot louder & more energetic than other kids, his attention and mood often shifting, and he always struggled to organize himself in a way, but his parents probably thought that was just a normal kid thing. well NEWSFLASH BUDDY omar probably has undiagnosed ADHD and he never rlly got help for it :/
his parents werent exactly crazy active in his life. they barely ever punished him, and never really taught him etiquette and important stuff for himself, such as how to be independent on himself and how to not interrupt other people or not swear in public. omar did exactly the opposite of that and he was pretty much an impulsive kid with a lot of behavioral problems. like he'd always pick on other kids in class, making them cry, laughing about it, never rlly paying attention, interrupting the teacher and other stuff yknow? and his parents never really told him 'hey thats not nice to do' so he just kinda continued.
✩ this led to his grades being pretty shitty! he never kept up with assignments and never learnt that much in school, only knowing basics.
✩ and duh this just grew into him. his parents were obviously mentally neglectful of him. they fed him, brought him outside, and bought him toys and clothes but they never bothered to help him socially develop and act more mature and whatever
(yes omar was the type of toddler to throw tantrums LOL)
✩ the dad btw he just kinda thought that taking care of a kid was to feed, play with them, buy them stuff so they could shut up, but he never rlly thought of telling him what to do and he never punished him for stuff. in fact he would try and encourage him on picking up hobbies and interests like music but, thats kinda about the quality time he ever spared for his son
his mother WOULD definitely scold him sometimes. but she'd never actually do anything about it. a lot of times, she and omar argued. and eventually she became sort of verbally abusive towards him but not punishing him to actually do things, letting him slack off and do whatever he wanted, but she would constantly insult him and take her anger out on him
✩ his parents didnt rlly do anything abt it and omar just kinda grew up hating his mom and eventually his dad as they kinda just stopped talking and spending time together
even tho the game doesnt state if he actually went to bullworth or not, im going to headcanon that he actually went there for him to become SO hateful towards it. if im not wrong, hes one of the townies who seem to resent it so much he actually wishes for it to burn down and to kill everyone. (omar wtf?)
✩ i personally imagine his parents probs sent him to bullworth academy and moved to a town closeby because, well, they just didnt want to see him at home anymore, and figured that sending him to a campus was gonna solve all their problems. SPOILER ALERT IT DIDNT.
due to omar's behavior he would be hated among other students and he'd be ruled out as an outcast that people found annoying or smth like that. and he probably had been bullied a few times, but, not being taught to go talk to an adult instead, he just picked fights as well.
and yeaaaaaah due to his violence i imagine he got expelled or something like that, his parents didnt give a fuck about him and he just resented the school ever since he got expelled for whatever tf he couldve possibly done. but i like to think he actually just acted a lot on his impulses and did tons of other messed up fucking shit in the school, like perhaps he set something on.. fire..?

✩ yeaaahhh , in short, he probably didnt have physically abusive parents, but he had sorta neglectful ones who didnt check up on him mentally. does he love his parents at all? nOPE. he absolutely resents them.
