My Skincare Routine: June 2016
I am such a skincare junkie- always changing and experimenting with new products. However, in the past year or so I have shied away from products with too many ingredients and chemicals that I can’t pronounce. I found it pretty hard to find things that weren’t filled with junk or that truly worked for me. I went back to the drawing board and decided I would just create my own!
To start, I bought a few recipe books, looked around online, and watched YouTube videos until I found recipes that worked well for my skin. I bought ingredients in bulk and played around until I had products that I was proud of. Then, I shared them with friends and family. I try to use minimal ingredients and only buy organic. There are some products that I still buy at a store that work great and that’s fine. I think I have found a nice balance.
One other miracle product that I have added in to my routine that has improved the texture and tone of my skin drastically has been essential oils. There are so many that are AMAZING for your skin- rose, frankincense, melrose, tea tree, manuka... the list goes on!
There is also an Etsy shop that I HIGHLY recommend for skin care. It’s called the “Organic Skin Shop”. She makes all of her own products and uses many of the same ingredients as I do. I’ve purchased many of her items and LOVE them. Sometimes it’s easier to buy her products than to make a huge batch of my own. They work just as great! Her site is currently down as she is revamping her workspace, but here is the link when she is back and running: Organic Skin Shop
