The Land of the big O

So Sydney. It was a bit of an unplanned plan to get here. After 8 months travelling I was dirt poor and my options were narrowing. No I did not want to stick out a euro winter with no money for warm clothes and most likely in a job earning no money to get me anywhere soon. No I did not want to go home either. I love you NZ but I needed excitement and a good job. Sydney seemed a pretty good option. I lived here for a year when I was 10 and one of the things that has always stuck with me is how almost every day my Dad would refer to Sydney as the land of the big O. o being opportunity. I had nothing to lose. Thank fucking god I took this leap of faith because two weeks on im on a train on my way to my new job having just left my new flat in Surry Hills. WHAAAAT. Looks like the Land of the big O is still churning out chances to lucky sons of bitches like me. But that’s not all. Not only has Sydney welcomed me with opportunity, I’ve also been greeted with excellent sunshine, warmth, a myriad of free events, and more delicious looking men then I can digest in one glance. Oh yeah. I made the right choice in coming here.
