What backlist books are in your tbr?
This week’s #SignedBookSundays is focusing on your backlist tbr! After reading and loving AMERICAN ROYALS, I knew I needed to check out Katharine McGee’s first series, THE THOUSANDTH FLOOR, which I’m looking forward to reading!y
LIT MEME → [7/8] Series
The Thousandth Floor
They say that before death, people’s lives flash before their eyes. But as the ground rushed ever faster toward her, the girl could think only of the past few hours, the path she’d taken that ended here. If only she hadn’t talked to him. If only she hadn’t been so foolish. If only she hadn’t gone up there in the first place.
There aren’t any happy endings in real life, because there aren’t any endings in life, only moments of change, she wrote, repeating his words. There’s always another adventure, another challenge, another opportunity to find happiness or chase it away.
-Rylin Myers, The Towering Sky (The Thousandth Floor Series) by K. Mcgee
““Nothing mattered except this moment. She felt invincible, untouchable, like she would be this way forever: young and dancing and electric and alive.””
— Katharine McGee, The Thousandth Floor
““Maybe that’s all that praying was, she thought, just wishing good outcomes on other people.””
— Katharine McGee, The Thousandth Floor
““Sometimes love and chaos are the same thing.””
— Katherine McGee, The Thousandth Floor
You know a book rubs you the wrong way when you have to take breaks and then step back into it. Like these characters are just so so fucking annoying.

The Dazzeling Heights - The Thousandth Floor #2 - Kathrine McGee
"All of them preoccupied with their own small worries, clutching at their impossible dreams."
I adored the first book in the series, but since this is the first picture on my Bookstagram I wanted to start with a quick review of this instalment.
Writing
It's easy to read, which is always good. Katherine McGee's style is fun and I really liked how she stayed true to her style and yet changed it a bit with each point of view she was writing from
Plot (Spoilerfree)
Like the first book there is a certain mystery, but a lot of romance and comedy as well. And of course glamour!
The plot is understandable and you can tell a lot of though went into this book
Characters
For me it's impossible to pick a favourite character! I love how everyone has their own problems and grows with them, how their stories could work well on their own, yet they're all connected without seeming forced.
Though of course it's easier to relate to some characters than to other and some seem more realistic, all main characters are three dimensional.
Rating
Though I adore this book (and the entire trilogy) it's not one of my favourites.
It has so many great elements, though to be one of my favourites a book has to really pull me into the story, which this didn't always do.
But in general it's a fun read, especially if you want interesting characters and stories without getting too much into the story and neglecting everything else.
For me the entire series combined (in this case it's hard to rate the books on their own) is a solid
4/5 Stars
For Fans of...
... Gossip Girl (I know, everyone says so)
... Crazy Rich Asians
... Dynasty
... Selection
... Clueless (Maybe, I personally think it fits)

Atlas Fuller - The Thousandth Floor
“That’s why I went away—to escape the way I felt about you. I kept hoping that if I just ran far enough, eventually I’d figure out a way to stop loving you.” “I’m glad it didn’t work.” “Of course it didn’t work.” He smiled. “There’s no way it ever could.
