THETONHQ is a tumblr based, OC mature roleplay inspired by Bridgerton and The Buccaneers. In this rp, people from all over come to London for the season to change their situations, fight off scandals and make connections of all kinds. Social ranking has never been more precarious with ambition changing the landscape and an anonymous writer doing all they can to expose everyone's secrets. Titles can be lost and gained but can you defy expectation and survive in this changing social scene that is filled with so many secrets ready to expose?

THE GARDEN OF NIGHT BLOSSOMS
Salvatore Manor, Mayfair
London has long prided itself on knowing every noble family worthy of its attention, yet every so often a new name finds its way into our drawing rooms and conversation with surprising speed. Such is the case with the Salvatore family, whose arrival from Italy has inspired no shortage of whispers. Whether those whispers speak of fortune, mystery, or merely impeccable tailoring, I shall leave for my readers to decide.
Lord Niccolò Salvatore and his cousin, Miss Francesca Salvatore, have at last chosen to unveil both themselves and their newly renovated residence to society. If one expected a modest evening befitting strangers in a foreign city, one would be sorely mistaken. Italians, it seems, possess little talent for moderation, and London shall be all the more entertained because of it.
The Salvatore estate will be transformed into The Garden of Night Blossoms, where flowers that ordinarily surrender themselves to darkness shall bloom beneath thousands of candles. Every guest is invited to attire themselves as a flower whose meaning best reflects their own nature. Will you choose the unwavering devotion of the white lily, the dangerous beauty of the crimson rose, the melancholy elegance of the camellia, the quiet resilience of ivy, or perhaps the foxglove, whose delicate petals conceal a poisonous secret?
Amongst the moonflowers and climbing roses, guests may notice an unusual arrangement repeated throughout the estate: towering snapdragons, nestled within cushions of sweet alyssum and embraced by countless blooms of ranunculus. Gardeners insist the pairing is merely practical, the alyssum and ranunculus sheltering the taller blossoms from the evening winds. Florists, however, tell another story. They speak of beauty so dazzling it requires gentle hands to preserve it. Beyond the ballroom, lantern-lit gardens shall remain open until dawn. Marble fountains shimmer beneath the stars, hidden alcoves invite whispered conversations, and a moonlit hedge maze promises that some guests may lose either their direction or their reputation before the evening comes to an end. Naturally, no Italian household would consider an evening complete without indulgence. Tables overflowing with Venetian pastries, Sicilian citrus confections, Florentine chocolates, and wines from every corner of the peninsula shall accompany the festivities, ensuring that even the most disciplined among us finds temptation impossible to resist.
If you are part of the servant / working class, you can still take part! The working class will be invited, or you can have your characters sneak in, eager to experience the grandeur of a society event, or they can help one of the other characters have a moment of reprieve from it all.
This event will run from 17th August 2026 - 10th September 2026 and all posts must be tagged theton;event and theton;salvatoreball and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! You can start your pre-event threads (picking your outfits, practicing dancing etc from any point)
Below are some activities (but you can make up your own):
Activity 1: Those with an appreciation for finer curiosities may wander into the manor’s grand library, where astrologers and fortune readers have been invited to chart futures amongst the constellations.
Activity 2: Nearby, artists will create silhouettes and miniature portraits throughout the evening, preserving faces that memory may not always remember so kindly.
Activity 3: The Orangerie, meanwhile, shall display a collection of rare botanical specimens gathered from across Europe and beyond, each bloom more peculiar than the last. Whether the rarest curiosities are found beneath glass or amongst the guests themselves remains to be seen.
Activity 4: Throughout the evening, musicians from Italy shall accompany the dancing with beloved waltzes, quadrilles, and operatic overtures before yielding the stage to the night’s crowning performance. A celebrated soprano has been commissioned to perform beneath the manor’s vaulted ceilings, her voice promising to carry through every corridor and garden until the final note lingers with the dawn itself.
London society is not unlike a bouquet of flowers, bound together by a common thread of reputation and potential ruin, or in the rare cases, the stems that provide support for others to stand tall and be held up by others. Yet not all flowers catch the same light or bloom the way that they should, just like any social season. No bloom tells the whole story, beneath the perfect petal may hide ambition, denotation or any number of secrets, secrets that may be revealed and cause your flower to wilt.
For this task, choose the flower that best represents your character, a flower that they have grown to be, or have you been like the new camellia plant, taking years to grow to debut into something entirely new, away from your family expectations? A rose is often admired by its beauty, yet people often neglect it is protected by its formidable thorns.
You do not have to pick just one! You can have your main flower, and if you want, you can create a whole arrangement for your character! To show this, you can create a mood board, collage or graphic inspired by your chosen flower, and you could also write about how the flower (or flowers) embodies your character!
Don't forget to tag theton;task! This character tasks will count once towards your activity! This is only for characters in The Ton HQ! This will not count towards activity, but will be useful in the next event!

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the sudden passing of Lord Cornelius Thorne, the Earl of Shrewsbury. The Earls reputation upheld his family for so long, all through scandal and scrutiny. Now, the new title and responsibilities rest upon the shoulders of Tobias Thorne, now Lord Thorne, Earl of Shrewsbury, but this is not without worry from everyone in England. He is known for his wayward ways and reluctance of the life he now bears all responsibility for. Many may assume his step-sister, Miss Katherine Thorne, may help guide him, but with enemies of her own making, one has to wonder if this is the downfall of such a noble house?
Misfortune has always found its way to the doors of House Das, but unlike House Thorne, this is entirely of their own making. Following Parliament's concerns around Nalan Das’s ever growing scandal, the King and Queen were pressured to renounce Lady Kavika Das’s barony and all estates that came with it. Baroness Kavika Das is no more, she is simply Miss Kavika Das thanks to her ruinous brother. The only consolation is that the Das family have retained their celebrated textile business, but we all know that wealth alone can not preserve influence.
Tomorrow, our plot drop happens! Two families will be majorly affected and I truly can not wait for you all to read it, and to see the reactions from some of the players! I am also in the process of prepping Lady Whistledown and her targets have already been selected...
