ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: When did you know that season 3 would be your last? LEAH PIPES: I luckily have a really great open dialogue with both of the executive producers, but especially Michael Narducci, so at the very beginning of the season, he was very open with me about Cami’s storyline potentially ending in death, but he promised it would be a good death. Often times, it’s oddly better to die than stick around and do nothing on a television show, so to avoid me being stuck on a show and doing nothing, he gave me a really great storyline, a really great arc, and a really great death.

Here’s the thing: if you honestly think Cami’s death will bring back a ship, then you need to take several seats. We just lost a character who was strong, independent, kind, went to college and got a Master’s, stayed true to her roots, never let ANYONE talk her down, and in doing so helped redeem Klaus Mikaelson. She was a friend and confidant for a lot of characters on the show. If I see ANYONE reduce Cami’s death to shipping nonsense, you’re going to get your ass handed to you.

Because THIS is a disgusting display of TV writers thinking killing women is “cool” and “meta” to do. Cami was killed for shock value – period. The EPs could argue her emotional connection to everyone is why they decided to kill her, but honestly it shows laziness. It shows they’re OK with building up an incredible character arc then throwing it away for ratings. 

This makes me sick.

So keep your shipping to the side, whether you’re a Klamille or Kl*roline shipper. That has nothing to do with Cami’s death. Cami’s death has everything to do with EPs believing it’s OK to have a character who’s relatable, kind, smart and wonderful, then kill them because they’re easily expendable. 

News flash: they’re not.

It’s so hard to find female characters that aren’t one-dimensional. We had a gold mine with Cami and now it’s gone. 

I’m at a loss. I’m angry. And I’m done with this show.

Four different fandom's all the same outcome in TO Hayley leaves Elijah, Klaus leaves Cami. in TVD Stefan leaves Caroline, Damon leaves Bonnie. I call a conspiracy between the two shows :(

Lol, I prefer to call it endgame tbh. This pretty much ensures us that these ships will be together and reunited by the end of the season. This is honestly how tv shows work so I’m loving all of the angst right now. Can you imagine the reunions for all of these ships? It’s about to be lit so cheer up anon and just imagine rejoicing in the salty tears of the anti shippers of all of these ships when they reunite in a month or so.

We all live literally across the street from each other, so we see each other quite a bit. We go for long walks to work out or we’ll do yoga, we’ll go to dinner and go shopping… We’re all pretty close here in Atlanta, which is really nice. I think it resonates on screen, too.

Rebekah

One of the many things I love about klamille? It’s a relationship Rebekah and Elijah, the two people that love Klaus and know him best, approve of. Especially with Rebekah. She hasn’t been around but she can recognize the effect Cami’s had on Klaus, his mood is better, he listens to her, and in 3x09 she saw he was in love. Love. Love. Love. Rebekah knows her brother’s in love with Cami and she gave him that extra push. It’s beautiful not only that but she knows Cami makes Klaus happy. That was a small beautiful moment with klebekah
