Okay but "cathartic" really is the best word to describe Taylor's bridges. Would it be a simple sentence repeated to put emphasis on the message of the song, a slowing down of the tempo to relax a little, an info dump to finally let us in on all the details of the story, the narrator realizing the truth and finally blaming the one deserving of it or moving on from the hurt, a direct attack to those she's shading after minutes of poetizing it, the sing-screaming, the pure expression of pain that everyone can relate to, the honest and vulnerable confession and so on and so on. And all of that only in her bridges, a part of the songs too often overlooked by artists when really it's the one that should grasp or attention. No matter what you need, a Taylor swift bridge has it.
