It occurs to me that there are people who weren’t on this website in 2012 and therefore never saw the magical gif that you can actually hear:
It’s been over five years and that still impresses the hell out of me.

@shaunking just posted this truly saddening video of a scene playing out across the country. A loud popping was heard so everyone in Times Square ran for cover, trying to save themselves from becoming the latest victim of America's latest mass shooting. What makes this video truly sad? Because the pooping wasn't gunfire, it was a motorcycle backfiring. Americans are so scared, so traumatized, that our first instinct is "oh god, this is it, active shooter, fight, run, or play dead." This is what animals have to do in the wild and look at us. This is just pathetic. Not because people had the good sense to run but because we have been reprogrammed to think the worst. At what point do we admit that America has imprisoned itself in a cage of hate and guns? At what point do we admit everything we have been indoctrinated to believe is wrong and that we are in fact not free at all? At what point do we overhaul every system that has let us down and pushed us down and take charge of our own lives? My heart goes out to every person who truly feared for their life in this moment, I too have felt that fear and am lucky it was unfounded but people, this is no way to live!
Marriage is such a goal for me. A healthy & loving marriage, with someone who is my best friend.
Dozens of NYC Subway riders, fresh off a Robyn concert, singing “Dancing On My Own” while waiting for the E train. (Video by Triszh Hermogenes)
I’m reblogging this again because the absolute joy in this video is something I haven’t seen in such a long time that I’d forgotten this aspect of humanity.
This video made me burst into tears. Sometimes? We’re not bad.
