I know there are an upsetting number of minors in this community who may be putting themselves at risk without realizing it. So please, take the time to read this and take everything in. Your safety is important.
Most of the people who present themselves as "ana coaches" are actually adults who are looking to fetishize either you or your eating disorder. No one is willingly going to "coach" you on how to worse your disorder like that.
Keep in mind, ana buddies are real and can be helpful, but you still have to be careful. They could still be disguising themselves as another minor.
Some red flags for ana coaches and buddies to watch out for:
Refuses to talk to you unless you send photos
Asks for photos taken in specific positions or types of clothing
Refuses to send you photos of themselves but insists on you sending them photos
Refuses to send you some sort of proof that the information they're giving you is true (i.e. their age or gender, this can easily be accomplished without risking privacy)
Now this adds on to my next point, which is:
DO NOT POST OR SEND BODY CHECKS
If you are a minor, this can easily fall under the category of child pornography. Especially if those body checks are taken in no or little clothing. But that is not the only reason you shouldn't post or send body checks. It also ties in with the above point, how some people will fetishize you or your eating disorder.
Don't send or post body checks of yourself wearing no clothing or even just in your underwear. Underwear is nothing that should be sexualized, but it still is, and it still falls under CP.
It's better for you to just not post photos of yourself. But there are safer ways to go about it:
Post your stats instead of your body (i.e. your height, weight, and body measurements)
Wear tighter clothing in your photos such as a tight shirt and a pair of leggings or shorts. You still have to be careful with this because the pedophiles infiltrating this community can still use them for themselves.
Post them to your blog privately. This way only you can see them. But you still have to be wearing some sort of clothing due to CP violations.
This is more of a general safety thing. Most ED blogs have their ages somewhere, whether it be in the description or in a pinned post like mine. If you know the adult, that's different, but please just do not interact with anyone not in your age group. You never know who they are or what they'll do. There are so many pedophiles and fetishists that have infiltrated this community.
Make your blog a safe space for yourself. Your safety is the most important thing. Please keep yourself safe. Practice basic online "stranger danger" methods. Don't give out any personal information to anyone you don't know in person.
