i am so proud of how far you have come – even if you have relapsed, i’m proud of you for still fighting and for still being here

gentle reminder
you deserve to be heard, seen, loved, and cared for
“You have to let go of what could have been, how you should have acted and what you wish you would have said differently. You have to accept that you can’t change the past experiences, opinions of others at that moment in time or outcomes from their choices or yours. When you finally recognize that truth then you will understand the true meaning of forgiveness of yourself and others. From this point you will finally be free.”
— Shannon L. Alder
Sometimes all you need is a break and some time to find yourself again. And that’s okay.
“Repeat after me: My current situation is not my final destination.”

things might be hard right now but you can still get through
“Just because you failed once, doesn’t mean you’re going to fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself.”
— Marilyn Monroe
it doesn't matter if you aren't where you want to be this new year - i promise you will get there eventually
to anyone spending Christmas alone this year, remember you are never alone and you are loved, even if it's just you
this year might not have been how you wanted it to be, but i promise it will get better.
your experiences are completely your own, so you don't have to let other people tell you how to feel
“Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.”
— Don Miguel Ruiz
just do your best today - your best is enough
Please use your right to vote today.
There are only two real choices for our government: Conservative or Labour.
Boris Johnson is a proven classist, racist, sexist, elitist liar who believes that inequality is essential for the government of our country. Here are some reasons not to vote for the Conservative Party.
Jeremy Corbyn has fought against racism and inequality in all forms since his youth. He has been vilified by the Tory biased media and persistently misunderstood by the public because of this. If you have reservations about voting for him please see this excellent post by wetpinkorthodoxy, the Labour Party Manifesto and this important short video of Steve Coogan explaining why he supports Labour.
It might also be worth looking into tactical voting depending on where you live. Not all tactical voting sites are reliable, but I would start with this article by The Guardian.
If you’re in the UK, please make sure you register to vote in the December election!
This blog has always been about trying to make the world a kinder place, and voting Labour will help to achieve this.
I spent my entire school career afraid of being wrong because I was taught that to make a mistake was embarrassing. Now I’ve discovered that making a mistake just means you are one step closer to the right answer, and everyday I have to work to shake the mindset that a single wrong answer equals failure.
