Extraterrestrial helmers The Vicious Brothers will direct Temple, a horror-thriller based on a script by The Guest screenwriter Simon Barrett, which is set to begin shooting in Japan this year. As per THR, a book of ghost stories—written by Eiji Otsuka of MPD Psycho—surrounding various real temples in Japan will also be released as a tie-in with the film. Said book will be featured in the film as one of the chapters focuses on the fictional temple in the project. Toei Animation will also create a 15-part anime series based on this book.
