OOC: So...I may or may not be alive
Short story: University was killing me and taking all my life so I had to disappear, but now I probably have time to roleplay and I was thinking about this girl. Anyone still interested?

"That look nasty, I guess not everything goes smoothly for you"
“You think this is bad? Should have seen the other guy…Too bad he is not in this world anymore” She said with a smug look while studying her own scar. Was she offended by his comment? Hell no, scars were sexy. They were the proof she was tough and a survivor and she wore them with pride.

Your muse catches sight of a pretty nasty scar they didn’t know mine had, how does your muse react?

Shurima’s Vastayans
Where Humans have a hard time creating and living, the Vastayans thrive.
Most wouldn’t believe Shurima to be a place where a Vastayan could live, considering it’s insufficient natural life, but that is a common mistake. If there is magic, there is vastayans, and those deserts hold more magic than the untrained eye can detect.
Different from most other cities, here the humans aren’t so numerous and because of the common clothes (that cover most of the body) it is hard to tell if you are dealing with a human or something else in the main areas of the city.
Things to know about Shurima’s vastayans:
The ones who were born here have parts of animals you would see surviving the desert such as Fennec foxes, Gazelles, Camels, Cheetahs and so on.
They are commonly hunters, travelers and mercenaries and would rather fight humans then hide from them.
They don’t have a specific place to set their homes and would normally consider their tribe the people that travel with them.
Because of the many layers of clothing that most use there it is not uncommon for vastayans to hide themselves under those clothes if they ever need to visit the city.
Good luck finding a vastayan that considers or ever considered Azir as their leader.
Being travelers it is not uncommon to find them in other cities, They are everywhere and rarely stay in the same place for long.
Vastayan World
Vastayans come in different shapes and with different animal parts, different cultures and even a different way to see the world, it all depending on where they are from. However most have things in common.
They avoid extense interactions with humans, because while the vastayans as we know today may have reached this form because of that very interaction, it always had more cons than pros. Hate, fear, black market selling vastayan parts if not the vastayans themselves...The reasons to avoid humans are way to numerous for most of them to risk an interaction. This is also the reason to why it is so hard to find any information about them. They don’t want to be known, tracked nor maped.
They do not like humans, mainly soldiers and explorers, invading their territories. How they deal with that depends on the people, but I can assure you that none will welcome you with open arms. Their space is already much smaller than it used to be so most wouldn’t like to have it getting smaller.
In general they are able to speak the common language of Valoran, but they have their own language and aren’t very found of the idea of teaching it to others. Children probably will not understand human language, but every vastayan learn at some age.
Every tribe has, at least, one Diplomat and their job is to do the talking between other neighboor vastayan tribes and, if necessary, humans as well. This isn’t a job that most would like to take and whoever decides to accept it is regarded with respect. Their opinions also weight a lot in decidions since they are said to know more about the outside world than most.
+
If there is something Xayah likes about human culture is their dances. Any and every dance, she is simply in love with them.
Human dancers or anyone who can dance probably has an easier time when getting to her good side.

....SO MANY VASTAYANS
*Wants to write headcanons about them all but should be focusing on ACTUALLY ROLEPLAYING*
Send me “+” for a completely irrelevant headcanon about my muse!
I.e., all the tiny little headcanons that never come up in writing because they just don’t matter that much, but that we have/think about anyways.
