It was all Yellow..
Hello, World~!
Pony Selfies
Trust Exercises
I dont often feel as though I want to share my thoughts on my Pony training as I tend to think people don't want to listen to it, however this time I just wanted to write up something short on a few trust exercises that my Handler and I practiced.
We tend not to have to opportunity to train.. What with the Great British weather and living with relatives, our chances to get outdoors and practice are very limited.
This week we had a small stroke of luck; One of the residents we share with got called away on family matters, and the other tends to keep to himself for most of the day.
It was yesterday evening, sitting relaxed on our comfy sofas that I decided to ask if Handler wanted to do some reigning exercises.. In the past we had had little success with reigning, as I simply could not tell when he was signalling me to switch directions and such. I put this down to the cushiony rubber bit that we have, as it simply flexed in my mouth as apposed to pointing me in the desired direction. Luckily, we'd recently gotten a new, more harsh bit with little-to-no flex in it, meaning that I should feel reign movements a lot better and with a lot less force on His end.
He tacked me up in simple attire; Just my new bit and reigns, followed by a blind fold. Now, the area we were working in was small to say the least; Our house has a circuit layout, where all the rooms on the lower floor are linked to one another by doors.. Perfect for testing my response to the bit. He reassured me about the blindfold, telling me that this was because I was familiar with the track and would automatically turn when necessary instead of listening to my bit.
I found myself straight away in a deep headspace.. I was suddenly my Pony, nervous and unsure about the blackness of the once familiar space. My ears and mouth became my eyes, telling me when I was closer to some walls than others. Before moving out, I took a moment to adjust to the new bit between my teeth.. It can be difficult to control salivation when you don't have a flexible bit, and stiffness prevents oneself spitting out the bit when it became uncomfortable, another thing that struck panic when I realised I couldn't do this. I settled quickly, feeling the gentle, reassuring tautness of Handler's reigns behind me.
He clucked at me to move out and I gingerly stepped forward at a laughably slow pace, feet picking their way over seemingly unfamiliar ground. Moments a go I could have navigated these hallways with my eyes closed, but under the guidance of the bit and reigns I felt nervous in this seemingly new environment. Panic tore through me every time we approached a door way.. Although my eyes were masked and closed underneath, I could sense the narrowness of the doorway and this really, really frightened me. I stalled a couple of times at these moments, tossing my head and stepping back uneasily. A gentle tug on the reigns was enough to bring me back to focus, and Handler would gently guide me through and I never did bump myself once, despite the almost claustrophobic fear that wracked me every time I could tell something was close.
Once we reached our starting point, he gentle slipped off my blindfold and loosened my bit, wiping away the sudden torrent of saliva as I loosened my jaw. He told me I did good and petted me. I smiled and nuzzled in to his palm, pleased with his response to my lesson.
We repeated this routine a couple of times, and each time I was less frightened and even began trotting slowly. He mixed up the route from time to time and I responded well, only getting confused a couple of times. When this happened He would stop, collect me, then continue where we left off.
I was super pleased and felt so proud of myself after this, as each time we repeated this the less frightened I was.
It just goes to show that if you really, really trust your Handler/Dom/Master/Sir, No harm will come to you. He is your eyes and you are his power. I was a good pony.

Adapting Bio-equine tack for your human pony.
Around a month a go I purchased a small pony-sized crupper in hope of adding it to my harness, however I underestimated how small I am and the Crupper proved to be much too long and stiff to work how I wanted it to.
For those of you who aren't aware what this is, It's a piece of tack that prevents other parts of the tack (i.e. saddle, harness) from slipping forward/around.
Personally, I like the Crupper for aesthetics. I like the way it sits underneath of the tail and lifts slightly, giving a more pleasing arch. This is what I originally intended to use my crupper for, but sadly it proved too large. Traditionally a crupper should never pull up on the tail, but this is Pony-play after all.
So!
After this piece of tack sat around for a while, making me sad because it didn't work, I was struck with an idea. I didn't yet have a proper tail belt, but looking at the construction of the Crupper made me realize I could make it work. I am a very heavy bottomed girl, and this crupper was the perfect size to fit- extremely comfortably, may i add- around my monstrous hips. My tail is attached to a leather plate with belt holes in it, allowing me to slide it on to the thin strap as you can see here.
It's not how it'd supposed to be used, but I love incorporating Bio-equine tack in to my play. I have kept it somewhat in line with how it's used in the real world, as this crupper keeps my tail high and well supported, as well as having plenty of loops to allow for me to be hitched up to lunge lines or driving reigns. The arch of the loop sits super smooth against my hip and doesn't make me feel as though I'm bulging out anywhere.
So yes! I am a happy pony~

Myself, Xanthos, in motion.
Just a quick little session of short routines set with markers. Handler called up when and what I needed to change to.
These short videos allow me to watch back and critique myself, as when you're in Head space it can be hard to see your faults.
Rolled mane braids. Being a pony with a cropped mane, I somewhat lack the flowing locks I desire.. So I have to get creative!
Frustrated Whinny..
Having had a taste of freedom at the last Fetish Fair we visited, this Pony is dying to go outdoors more.. It's not fair. I don't want to be kept indoors, gazing longingly at my beautiful yet neglected tack.
Handler took me outdoors for a thorough walking just the other evening, however I was bare of tack bar my polos to protect my legs. I like the feeling my tack brings me, but I just guess I'm going to have to accept that I cannot bring it out publicly without caution.. I forget that something that may seem harmless and everyday to me could come across as overly sexual and unusual to anyone else. That, and Handler isn't comfortable with it either.
I guess this is a feeling many Ponies get.. Especially those without access to private areas of land.

Naming
Naming was always going to be a big deal. I've never been good with the big decisions and I was all too aware of how important a name can be. A while had passed (far too long, if I'm honest) since we began our adventure into pony play and my pony was finding herself within the role and becoming quite the beauty to behold - but all still without a name to put to this new form!
But now I've found something that seems to hit the right chord with me. Xanthos. The name is greek for yellow/blond, echoing my pony's choice of tail colour.More than this, however, Xanthos was the name of one of the Mares of Diomedes. The mares of a Thracian king, they are described as being magnificent, wild and uncontrollable. This definitely reminded me of someone.
The Mares of Diomedes also had a unique character - they were fed a diet of human flesh. I find it appropriate to give my pony the moniker of a man-eater, as I know personally her great power and resilience to submission to all but me - and even then, there's no shortage of defiance! She may stop short of canibalism, but the identity definitely fits how I see her spirit and character.
So yes, it is with a great amount of happiness that I can cease the search for a name and give Xanthos a further level of identity. So here is Xanthos, feel free to admire her beauty but you might do well to keep your wits about you with her around!
