i found kevin schwantz’s proposal to put marc on probation after argentina 2018

i call this the niki lauda logic because this is the same set of logic that niki used to blame lewis for spain 2016

for the longest time, i wondered if it was unfair to hold racers to a wholly different set of standards just because they have won championships. why should we blame lewis for racing just as hard as nico? why must lewis race more responsibly just because he achieved more success? niki argued that lewis could tell that nico fucked up his start, and he could’ve made a better pass going into the next corner.

so it’s interesting to see kevin schwantz voice the same thoughts with respect to argentina 2018. marc is allowed to make mistakes, but marc should know better than racing so recklessly he practically knocked two riders off their bikes. he has won so many championships at that point he would’ve known that he had the race pace to win. he could’ve been more patient and made a cleaner pass at a different corner. aleix was angry at marc because he knew marc could do better.

niki thought lewis could do better.
