It’s weird now knowing that I have a little one who will rely on me for a lot.” She nodded, “They really do. My parents weren’t too terrible but mum went back into work when I was about a month old and it’s a job involving a lot of travel. We just never got to have an amazing bond.” Aurora smiled faintly, “Thanks, I hope I’m a great mom.”

“Oh yeah,” she nodded. It sounded like her, honestly, and it struck a cord with Zara. The woman was a free spirit and Zara could connect with that. The idea of having a child just rely on you scared the Brit but she knew if she found herself with child then she’d be there 100% unlike her mother had been. “I am sure you will, babe. If you plan to stick around and be there in your child’s life then you already are going to be a great mum,” she promised the girl.

“I can share a lot more with you than just the number,” Sebastian teased, though he certainly wouldn’t say no if Zara had yes. “Like there’s absolutely no competition in that department. You’re like my number one person to call if I want to go out and have a good time. Don’t tell your brother, he wouldn’t be so happy.” The male chuckled softly. “Yeah, a massage would be better. One with oils and candles. Get these muscles into work.” He nodded, “Shots sound like a great idea, Zar.”

“Please do share. I want all the details to this little fantasy of yours,” Zara smirked. “It shall be our secret, babe. Plus I would have been personally offended if it wasn’t me that you picked to have a fun night out on the town with.” Zara was often the person to call for a fun night out and if someone pass on inviting her to instead invite someone else they thought could bring the fun then she took it personally. “Right? But out by the ocean too with real sounds of waves rather than some Spotify playlist,” she mused. “Babe, I am full of brilliant ideas.”

Sebastian knew that he cared about Zara, it wasn’t like he ever hid that fact. His bond with Zara’s brother meant that the man had always had the instinct to protect her and make sure that people weren’t hurting her. Seeing her like this did hurt, he didn’t like seeing the usually joyful and flirtatious girl so upset. He was pleased that he had come here. Even if it wasn’t someone after her, the security the royal had meant that he didn’t have to worry about her. “Please, Zar. I’m sure you didn’t. Let it all out, sweetheart, don’t hold it all in.” He softly rubbed her back, kissing the top of her head. “Always come here, tell me what’s going wrong. Who do I have to kill?”

Zara was so thankful to Sebastian. Even just few words and his presence eased some the dreadful thoughts that had been brewing since she ran from the apartment to Sebastian’s home. “No one. No one,” She whispered and unsure if it would be better if there was a person he could go after to make things better. But there wasn’t a person. She had fled herself and going back wasn’t an idea at this point. “I made such a big mistake,” she continued to repeat. “I had to run- I had to get out of there.”

“Yeah, she’s pretty independent, though and can walk.” Darcy had always been good with kids, she pretty much turned into a different person to how she was before. “Exactly, a few months ago now. Sounds cool, treat yourself.”

“That is awesome,” Zara nodded. She had no clue of milestones for children’s development so she couldn’t argue with those points nor did she want to do so. “Babe, I treat myself daily. Today is no different,” she smirked.

“It’s fine,” He smiled softly, nodding at her next question. “Yes, Zach’s my brother.” Xavier shrugged, “Honestly, I haven’t got a clue! Oh, well thanks for that.” He felt a little awkward at the compliment. “How do you know Zach?”

“Of course, babe.” Zara smirked. “Oh, Zach is dating one of my best friends, Katherine White. I’m sure you know of her,” she answered; she wasn’t going to mention the one dalliance she had with Zach many moons ago. “He is also one of my best friends. I’ve convinced him to make me some earl grey infused bread.”

Bars and clubs were his usual haunt on the weekend when he didn’t have any real plans. He mostly preferred to go solo, his group of friends a loud distraction when he was trying to meet women that often made him look bad with all their hooting and hollering. He’d been there long enough to drink half a bottle down when he caught a glimpse of a stunner that was standing on her own, making it easier to approach her as a single guy.  He mad his way to the bar, leaning on the edge of it with a heavy sigh as he looked towards the woman with a small pout. “ Miss, can you help me? See, I came out tonight saying I’m gonna buy the most beautiful woman in the bar a drink, but you already have one. Now I don’t got an excuse to talk to ya. What am I gonna do about that?”

“Did you steal a page from my book?” Zara teasingly asked him because it was just the line she’d most likely use herself so she of course appreciated him using it on her. “I think I can easily solve that for you, babe.” Zara smirked before downing the vodka that was left in her glass. “Now I’ve got an empty glass and I believe you wished to buy the most beautiful girl, me, a drink.”

“It’s not worth it. Ava’s only a year old, sometimes wakes up in the middle of the morning and it’s not worth it. I’d rather keep my head on straight.” Darcy shrugged, “Well, they’re my brother and sister but I am their guardian. Just a coke or something would be perfect.”

“Oh, so a baby basically,” Zara said. The Brit always felt awkward around children because she often forgot to censor herself and hated to be lectured. “So you adopted them both then?” Zara asked her. “Lets get you that drink. I’ll have a shot for both you and me.”

“Okay, okay..I’m pleased I didn’t hurt you.” At the compliment, he let out a litle chuckle, not knowing quite how to respond. “It’s just the truth.. Thanks for that. It’s lovely to meet you, Zara. I’m Xavier Wynne.”

“Thanks babe,” Zara grinned. “Wynne. Like Zachary Wynne?” Zara asked but looking back up at the man’s face answered the question for her. “How the fuck did I miss that? You look so much like Zach. Good genes certainly are running rampant,” she smirked. “I’m so glad to meet the younger Wynne brother.”
