I'd like for you to work for me again.
I suppose I don't have much choice.. Alright, I'll work for you.
Bela Darling. You and I need to talk.
Alright.. I'm listening. What do we need to talk about?
Better Than You Think | Balthazar & Bela
âDonât need protecting, hu? Tell that to that hell hound that ate you for dinner. Tell that to Lucifer when he gets what he wants out of you.â He chuckled, smugly folding his arms over his chest. Heâd seen more of her than she though he had. Heâd been following her as best he could since before he ran from heaven. He knew everything about her. He chuckled again, mocking him wasnât going to get him to leave her either. Â He took a sip from his glass and smiled, it was a good year heâd grabbed. He sat in the love seat next to the couch, still wary of her gun. Getting shot wouldnât kill him, but it still wasnât a fun activity.
âOh, my apologies⊠that was a tad brash of me, wasnât it?â He crossed his legs in his seat, the smug look never leaving his face. An eyebrow cocked with her question, what did he want? What did he want? He just wanted to protect her, ever since heâd seen her from the clouds of heaven. He supposed he fancied her a bit, but it was more protecting her from the stupid Winchesters and their apocalypse creating habits.
âWhat I want is to protect you, honestly.â He held his hands up to show he wasnât fooling around with lying anymore. He didnât really have any other reason to be around Bela Talbot. She was the only human that he didnât think was a hairless ape. He wasnât quite sure why either, he just spotted her with the Winchesters and wanted to protect her ever since. He went back in time to follow her from the beginning back to the present, to learn everything about her so as to better protect her. It was to pull up the covers for her on nights when she had a shiver, and to try and deter her from making her deal. But he couldnât change the course of history, not after the ordeal with the Titanic. âTisâ not a sudden fascination at all, my dear.â
Bela frowned when he decided to throw her past grievances her way, as well as playing on her fear of what was to come of her in the near future. Her little truce with Lucifer was only a temporary thing. Once she became expendable and unnecessary he would toss her aside like last nightâs left overs. She turned to look Balthazarâs way, her gaze still hard but her attention on him as he spoke, proving she was actually ready to hear him out. Perhaps sheâd been a fraction hasty when sheâd tossed his offer of guardianship in his face.
âSo youâre telling the truth about that?â her tone was as sober as it ever had been tonight. No longer was the flirtation present, but also missing was the threat, the sarcasm, the suspicion. Now she was seriously fishing for an answer that carried certainty. âOkay, say I believe you..â she began, staying calm and attempting to evaluate the situation in a proper manner, rather than being rash as usual. âHow do you propose to protect me? I mean, I get that youâre an angel â you have powers and abilities that exceed us humans.. but what can you offer me that your big brother hasnât already offered me?â She tilted her head, brows rising in unison as she challenged Balthazar. Lucifer offered her power, royalties for her service. What self-respecting, selfish, conniving bitch would turn that offer down?
Her frown returned and she once again lost herself in thought when he admitted his protective offer wasnât a sudden urge. Apparently this was something the angel had been considering for a long while; perhaps longer than Bela herself had known about angels and their existence. âoh..â She responded, her shock apparent before her curiosity overtook all else, âWhat do you know about me then?â her eyes flickered to the pictures on the wall â the lies she used to conceal her painful past. It would absolutely kill her if she was laid bare to someone else. Her gaze returned to the angel a slip second later, âWhat all do you know about me then? How long have you been watching over me without my knowledge?â
Any port in a storm || Bela & Dean
If the world wasnât well on its way to dying, Dean mightâve thought that someone had just conveniently failed to mention that Montanaâs idea of a little wet weather was the northern equivalent of monsoon season for how hard it was pouring outside. But as it was, being privy to the supernatural and all of its end of the world prophecies made him warier of everything, and a downpour like this? Yeah, definitely not the work of some natural happenstances in the jetstream. This was flat out cosmic crap, and from his spot on the bed closest to the door, he looked out the window, watching with furrowed brows as heavy drops pelted the glass furiously.
He was so caught up in eyeballing the weather that he hadnât noticed the silver Mercedes convertible coup that had pulled in. Nor did he notice the driver. If he had, he wouldâve yanked Adam inside from where he stood on the walk, sheltered by the overhang, and locked the doors up nice and tight. Not that Bela was someone heâd consider âdangerousâ by any means. Just a massive pain in the ass and a trigger happy bitch to boot. An obstacle, rather than a threat. The kind of obstacle he wouldâve rather have stayed dead.Â
But then again, when did any of them ever get what they wanted?
Drawing his attention away from the disastrous weather outside since there was nothing to do but wait it outâor attempt to start building an ark, but it seemed a little late for that nowâhe glanced over his notes to see if he could pin point weather related ones. None of them specifically mentioned a torrential downpour, but there were definitely red flags over what was to come laced throughout the flowery, archaic English, and what he read didnât exactly make him feel better about the deluge going on outside. The possibility of earthquakes and eruptions⊠ash and dust littering the sky, causing blackouts. Real post-apocalyptic shit, and he looked up and out the window again, frowning a bit in worry.
âSon of a bitchâŠâ he mumbled to himself as lightning streaked across the sky. But before he could think more on it, Adam had come huffing into the room, looking surly and a little ego wounded all at once, dark spots from where the rain had picked up and hit him splattering his jacket. Lifting an eyebrow at him for only a moment, now more than used to having a grumpy teenager around again, he went back to the mess that was scattered around him on the bed, rifling through a few pages before finding the one heâd been reading over before the weather related ones took precedence.Â
âWhatâs your problem?â Really, he only asked to be polite, and it was evident given the absent tone to the question, but when the kid launched into his rant about some stuck-up English bitch telling him to shove off, Deanâs attention immediately focused itself entirely on his youngest brother. With a slightly wide-eyed and contemplative curiosity, he listened as Adam described the offender. Surely there was more than one stuck up English bitch in the world, but the odds of a different one of them landing in Montana? In their particular town, at their particular motel? Not very high, so he wordlessly stood up and cast a long glance around the parking lot and as far down the walk way as he could to see if he could spot anything that would point to the woman in question being none other than Bela Talbot.Â
He didnât see her, but his eyes traveled over the silver Mercedes parked next to his Impala, and he ground his teeth together in thought for a minute. If it was Bela, no way did he want that spiteful bitch parked right next to his baby, and with that thought in mind, he turned back toward Adam, telling him to stay put. Without another word, Dean reached for his green cargo jacket, the weather outside far too wet for his leather one, and pulled it on over a black hoodie heâd swiped from Sam. Tugging the hood up over his short sandy hair, he headed outside, using the temporary shelter of the overhang to his advantage while he swept a glance in both directions for the woman in question. There was no sign of her though, so without another moment of hesitation, Dean reached down to pull the lockpick out of his boot, and positioned himself between the driverâs side door and the vehicle on the other side of the Mercedes, making quick work of jimmying the lock open.
Once he was seated inside, the wet from his clothes sinking into and hopefully warping the soft leather seat covers, Dean let his eyes travel over the rest of the interior. It was way too modern and sleek for his own tastes, but not rocket science to drive, and after another brief battle with his lock pick versus the ignition, the engine purred to life and he leaned up with a bright grin, throwing the coup into reverse so he could back her out of the chosen spot. On the off chance it didnât belong to Bela, he wasnât going to take it too far. Just far enough to be out of sight, and a hell of a walk through the rain to find.
Shifting it into drive, he swung the car around the side of the building toward the back, and parked it behind the dumpster. For a second, he debated leaving it running, just to waste some gas as an added bonus. But after deciding that it might take her a little longer to figure out where the hell it had gone if it sat silent in its hiding spot, he shifted his lock pick around again to turn the ignition back into the âoffâ position before he climbed out of the car. Stowing the tool in his boot once again, he jogged back to the safety of the overhang and down the porch toward his car so he could âbusyâ himself with rooting around in it while he waited to see whether the thief would emerge from somewhere or not.
With a new key in hand, Bela once again made her way down the walkway to her room. It seemed like an awful lot of trouble on her part simply to find a nice pillow to lay her head, but with the weather gaining momentum and her mood as low as it was; anywhere was a luxury out of this torrential rain. She cast a glance out into the wet, her eyes narrowing to catch a better glimpse of the world under its watery view. It was then that she noticed something â or rather, didnât notice something. The space were her car should have occupied was empty and she cast a panicked look around the lot, trying to convince herself that sheâd just parked it elsewhere but forgotten the location. No, she definitely parked it there, right there next to that God awfulâŠ.
âImpala.â
Her teeth clenched after her tongue wrapped around the word. Even still, her heart sunk as she did love her car â it was brand new and now one of those bloody brothers had taken it, she was near sure. She felt her ears burn hot â hatred giving her a headache. She took a wary step forward, and stopped. Still shell-shocked by what had happened. Well played Winchester, getting me back for an old prank, huh? Two can play at that game. She took another few steps toward the sleek black car. Even under the rain trails and mists of water splashing from its surface, she could tell it had just been detailed â a fresh paint job, maybe waxed and shined to perfection â cared for as only a mother, or a slightly obsessed man, would care for a child â a baby.
She was now striding out in the rain, the heavy droplets pelting her face, drenching her hair once more, soaking her blouse to her skin. Once she was at the trunk of the classic car she smiled and with a flick of the wrist, her key struck the shiny exterior. She leaned in hard, dragging the metallic biting teeth of the instrument down the side of the car. With every inch she tore, a scream of metal on metal filled the air. The thunder rumbling in the distance covered her for now though. Anyone would blame the calamity outside for the noise pollution. Once she reached the front of the car she wrenched the key from the solid surface, with a fulfilled smile breaking her otherwise hard expression. She turned to view her work, checking out her version of detailing, before walking around to the hood of Deanâs baby and engraving a massive âBâ on her front. Now she was definitely satisfied. She stepped back from the wet, feeling drenched right through but not particularly bothered at this point. Dean messed with her transport and here sheâd destroyed the integrity of his.
She stood on the walkway, hip popped to the side as she leaned all her weight on one leg. Her arms were folded and her expression cruel. She was waiting for his return and for him to discover her handy work whilst he was away trying to make her life a misery. She had to conceal her smile when Dean returned to his car. The scratch obviously unnoticed for now, as was the thief, during the time the man pretended to fiddle about with the chevyâs interior, âDarling, I think youâll find the real mess is on the outside - Might want to sort that out. Looks to me like someoneâs keyed your car, love..â She feigned concern, hand to her heart when she spoke. She then rocked back on her heels waiting for the inevitable blast wave to come in the form of this guy throwing a hissy fit, or perhaps falling victim to a freak asthma attack â the usual amateur dramatics one would expect from the eldest of the Whinechesters.
Any port in a storm || Bela & Dean
Rain and hail flashed in rolling waves against the front window of Belaâs silver Mercedes convertible. The wipers were working with all their might to clear her view of the road but it was hopeless. The roof was drawn up tight but it was fit to cave in thanks to the disastrous weather that struck rather suddenly. Her poor sports car just couldnât handle the rough treatment. Western Montana was her terrain for now. Was it always this miserable, or had Bela brought the rumbling thunder, rods of lightening and downpour with her from Great Britain? She doubted it. She hadnât even been home and furthermore, sheâd never seen a storm like this before. She vowed inwardly to pull into whatever form of shelter she came across on the next stretch of road. As luck would have it, a mile or so passed when she finally spotted a motel that might be just do the trick. A shoddy little thing, yes, but it would do as a place to hold up until the weather cleared. Then sheâd continue on her merry way, hunting for those damned rings, the search for which driving her up the wall and beyond, as the trail kept getting colder and colder.
The car pulled to a stop and once parked Bela stepped out; jacket pulled up over her head, she tore toward the doors to get out of the wet and wind. She hadnât noticed it yet but sheâd parked adjacent to an old classic muscle car - A â67 Impala that belonged to two very familiar hunters from her past. Still, there was no time for noticing that little fact just now. Soaking wet; hair ruined and stuck to her face she slapped a credit card down on the desk. A room was promptly paid for under the name Anna Travis; an alias she had crafted quite recently to stay out of range of those who had figured out sheâd faked her own death to escape certain payments and deals. Damn, if they only knew the truth (or believed it), maybe then sheâd be able to shake a few problem goons off her back. Humans. Sometimes they were worse with grudges than demons.
She started toward the exit again, replacing her card and checking her bag to make sure she had all she needed for the overnight stay. All she wanted was a hot bath, a large bed to rest her wary head and a large bottle of champagne to soothe the mind. That was of course if room service was even an option in this crap-hole. She severely doubted sheâd get her last wish though. This wasnât a plush, ritzy hotel complex straight out of Paris or NYC. This was Montana - Famous for its mountains and apparently its dire, wicked weather.
She got to her room. Thankfully the runway that led down through the row of rooms was sheltered by a rather long porch that saved her from the worst of the weather. The rattle of her key in the lock and the thumping of rain water to the rooftop was all she could focus on and after a frustrated few minutes of jiggling and fighting to enter her room she gave the key a good hard twist only to regret the action. Snap. The key broke off in her hand and she growled in frustration. âUseless piece of crap..â She tossed the top of the key in her anger and crouched to look at the damage. Eyes shut soon after and her head bumped against the door before she slid down , knees touching the flooring. She gently banged her forehead to the door before turning and spotting someone watching her dramatic antics from the room two doors down.
âHave you got a problem, sweetie? Why donât you piss off and mind your own, yeah?â She bit, glaring at the tall boy. Her acid tongue meant to deter him and make him think twice about approaching. Her eyes rolled as he swiftly re-entered his room and shut the door. She decided to get up and head back to the front desk to explain her predicament to the owner â maybe get a new room and a discount out of the ordeal.
Unbeknownst to her though, the blonde guy sheâd literally told to fuck off, but in a slightly nicer dialect, was none other than Adam Milligan. He was now busy ranting to his brother, Dean, about a brunette woman, clothing so drenched it was practically see-through, who was rude to him. In typical Adam fashion he made sure to throw the words âEnglishâ âstuck-upâ and âbitchâ into his explanation. How the hell did he know heâd just opened a can of worms from years gone by? Heâd never experienced Bela Talbot before, but his older brother sure had.

Better Than You Think | Balthazar & Bela
At the click of the pistol his eyes closed and he smiled, and was quick to adjust himself so he didnât end the fun too quickly. He backed off with her guidance, pressing his back against the chair. He feigned fear, tightening the muscles in his neck and pressing his lips into a straight line. He lost it when she asked what he was though, and he burst out with laughter. He had ruined his own little game here, so it was time to give in.
He waved his hands at her, rising to his feet with his hands out front to show he meant no harm. âBela, you have nothing to fear of me. Youâre right in asking what I am, but Iâm only here to protect you.â He turned his back to her, uncaring if she decided to shoot off a few rounds into his back. He shook his head and chuckled to himself, maybe he wasnât needed here after all. If she could spot someone supernatural that easily then why was he here? He knew that wasnât the case though, he would be needed even if she could spot a demon from a mile away. She was no match, hard headed as she is.
He turned to look at her, all falsehoods leaving him now. It was time to tell her, even if he could just disappear right now and never show himself to her again. That wouldnât be any fun. He sighed and his eyes met her, showing his signature smirk again. âNo doubt youâve met my brother, Castiel, by now. You should have, what with hanging around the Winchesters and all.â He shrugged, deciding to make it clear as day for her, âIâm an angel. Think of meâŠâ he chuckled, shaking his head at the clichĂ© of the situation, âThink of me as your guardian angel.â He smiled, hoping she would believe him.
Just to drive the truth through her mind a little more, he disappeared with a gust of wind and the sound of wings flapping. He returned in seconds, holding a bottle of his favorite Cherri and two wine glasses. His smirk grew, reaching his eyes as he pulled the cork out of the bottle with his teeth. Not as classy as he would have preferred in the situation but he had forgotten to grab a corkscrew. He poured himself a glass, eyes flicking back up to Bela to question. âWould you like some, or do you think Iâm still some big bad nasty here to eat you.â He thought for a moment and chuckled, âWellâŠâ he trailed off, giving her a wink and offered her a glass full of wine.Â
His laughter just made her angrier. She breathed hard through her nostrils, her chest tight, her hand tighter to the gun. âWhatâs so funny?â Sheâd hardly made a joke or made light of the situation, so why was he smirking? She tensed and fired her weapon, enraged by the manâs negligence. The bullet was aimed precisely, cutting close to Balthazar but only the air the bullet sailed through touched his face; the bullet itself lost in the soft furnishings of the couch.
âThen what are you? Speak up!â She snapped, lips wrapping around the words that dripped with venom and malice. An angel. Great. But that was a new one. He was here to project her? She readjusted her finger to hover over the trigger again. This time sheâd aim to hit flesh if he didnât stop dicking with her.
âIâm aware of Castiel, yes â but I havenât been âhanging around the Winchestersâ as you so eloquently put it. I wasnât even aware they were here in town, much less have I approached either of them in the time Iâve been here.â It wasnât a lie. She hadnât gone near either Sam or Dean or their friends for that matter. Sheâd had her own affairs to deal with. Her own second coming to panic about. Why the devil would she even go near that rancid pair, unless⊠unless they had answers for her. All that shit with Ruby and Lucifer.. the rings. Maybe paying the Winchesters a visit after all wouldnât be a bad idea. It would be a treat to catch the look on Deanâs face when she reappeared in his life. Plus they had an old score to settle.
Now it was Belaâs time to chuckle, âMy guardian angel?â She giggled, but caught herself on, her features casting a smile of pity for the poor sap. âAnd why would I need one of those? Is a big bad monsta after me, Balthazar. Should I be scared?â Her eyes flashed. She was having him on of course. It was obvious as the smile never left her face in the time she spoke her words. Mocking him â that was another way to look at her actions. Poor stupid moron.
âI donât need protection, especially not from some angel. Go flutter off and save some other damsel, darling, because Iâm just fine on my own. Always have been, always will be.â
The gust of air and the abrupt exit had Bela thinking heâd taken heed of her advice and buggered off, but no sooner was he gone, did he return â glasses in hand and a bottle. She rolled her eyes. Her head turned. Her hands squarely upon her hips and her gun limp in her hold, âYou donât bloody give up do you?â She sighed and took a glass. Fuck this â she needed a good drink, what with the resident God Squad taking a liking to her and all.
Her brows rose at his interjection. Sheâd been drinking at the time and glared at him past wide green orbs when he spoke. She swallowed, âI beg your pardon?â That was the last thing on her mind. She wanted answers â not a heavenly screw from an angel with a screw loose. âJust tell me what you really want with me.. why the sudden fascination?â She spoke almost exhausted and slumped down upon the single seat, that sat adjacent to the one sheâd shared with Balthazar before the one-sided Mexican stand-off ensued.

As Balthazar leaned in, she watched his eyes. The tell-tale look of yearning burning within those orbs of his. Got you. Now was her chance to strike. Now was her chance for the truth and for her male friend to fess up.Her sneer was cat like and her movements rapid. As Balthazar found himself tantalised by her approach, she took the moment to catch him off guard. There was something suspicious about this fellow from the get-go; something not right and perhaps threatening. After all, she was far from an amateur â sheâd been around the supernatural since her early teens and had a prolonged stint in hell. When something was off, she just knew it. It was instinct. This guy seemed too comfortable in her humble abode. Too sure of himself. He was too eager to please her and that was either her own insecurities coming to light or her gut telling her to get out of dodge quick smart. She vouched for the latter. Her gut was always correct, so why on earth would it be wrong about this one?
A click of her pistol indicted the time for fun and games was over. Explaining was high on the list of priorities now and dear Balthazar better start talking fast if he wanted to keep a head squarely on his shoulders. She quickly pressed the gun to his temple and pushed him back, pinning him to the chair as she leaned in.
âWhy on earth have you been following me?â Her lip curled at the question and instead of lust and longing her eyes blazed like fire; determined to gain a fragment of truth from this mess. It was all a façade â the small talk in the bar, the walk home, the wine laced with sedatives, an ounce of dead manâs blood and a dash of holy water. All the tricks. Be this creep a vampire, demon or human surely to God one of the added ingredients would have worked by now, so just who the fuck was he and what was his purpose for following her and accompanying her home? Was he a spy? - One of Crowleyâs men checking up on her or adamant to drag her back to hell. Perhaps he was working for Lucifer.. or that bitch Ruby. Trust was such a dirty word and Bela believed no one did anything without agenda, so what was his?
âWhat are you?â She stood now â readjusting herself â hoisting her dress and keeping her gun trained on the man upon her coach. He was obviously not human â the sedation would be in full effect now so her actions were completely justifiable. Brown curls collected in ringlets upon her shoulders as she stared down the barrel of her gun; deep pout and frown cutting her feminine features and making her look as hard as stone. âYou better start talking fast or I can assure you Iâll start aiming for precious areas..â
I donât get out of bed for three grand.
Negotiations with an Anti-Saint || Bela & Ruby
While Rubyâs insults seemed to roll off the other womanâs back, the feeling was entirely mutual. Yes she was a demon. No, she didnât torture souls to get her own set of black eyes like the scumbag bitch before her probably wouldâve if it meant saving her pretty ass. She climbed the rungs of the ladder of hell the good olâ fashioned way, her sheer willpower alone earning her the right to hop off the rack and go to work on the crossroads. From there, it was into Lilithâs awaiting arms, and the other demon doted on her like a child for the most part. A favorite daughter, so to speak. It was just too bad that mama had taught Ruby a little too well, and had ended up paying the price for it with her own rotten life. But those were the breaks, right?
Bela called her bluff on riding around in the womanâs meat suit, but really⊠the only reason she hadnât already jumped the bitchâs bones was because she could already tell the British snot wasnât exactly welcomed company in the hunter world. If she knew the boys, and it was quite likely that she did, Ruby felt safe in assuming they didnât think very much of her either. Why wear vinegar when you attracted more flies with honey, right? And the slip of a blond that she was riding around in now just had one of those faces that said âtrust meâ. If it wasnât for that little bit of aftermath in the form of Lucifer rising that came from killing Lilith, sheâd be the Winchesterâs best friend. And, as it was, she already had Sam back in her corner. Dean she knew better than to hold her breath with, but she was still one brother up on the vile meatsuit standing in front of her. One brother, and one ring. It was like having a full house when all Bela had was a pair of threes.
Of course, the reverse link that worked like an anti-possession element was quite the deterrent too, and Rubyâs face screwed up into something akin to mock admiration. âOh, bravo. Congratulations, youâve passed a little bit of dark arts 101. But youâll have to do a lot better than that to keep up with me,â she assured the other woman with a sneering smile on her face. âSee, youâre answering to my daddy dearest right now, but hereâs the catch, baby doll. Daddy isnât the big gun in hell anymore. I mean⊠he might be sitting in the big chair, but thatâs all appearances. Someone snatched all of his power right out from under him, and he doesnât even have his feathers to fall back on anymore.â The demon made gentle tsking noises, as if she was disappointed in her competition before she lifted her shoulders in another bored shrug when Bela demanded that Ruby accept her offer.Â
âOr⊠I could just not accept, and you could stop wasting my time. Because really, I donât need whatâs locked up in that frizzy little head of yours to find out where that ring is. I have other ways to get the job done. But feel free to take a look around here anyway. Maybe a little dirt will explain the brown all over your nose,â she spat, her tone sweet like saccharine and thoroughly condescending. âBut I have some business to take care of, so if you donât mind, Iâll just be going.â Flashing the other woman another sarcastic smile, she added: âBut good luck. Iâm sure youâre going to need it.â
A satisfied smile creased Belaâs already conceited features as Ruby continued to spill state secrets. It was glorious to watch the so-called-mighty trip and fall over her own wicked tongue. Ruby was nothing but a bottom feeding spirit with an ego, a little blonde piece who thought she was something because she and Sam were as thick as thieves. And she thought that was an advantage. Oh poor little airheaded hell spawn. Clearly Ruby was misinformed. It was common knowledge that staying out of dodge of the Winchesters was a much more satisfying and altogether safer way to manage oneâs life. Getting close to the Winchesters served to offer you the chance to sign your own death warrant, so Ruby could keep her boys - Shack up with them for all Bela cared. Bela needed no-one but her own wit. Obviously Ruby had no wit of her own or else she wouldnât climb on the shoulders of those around her to gain an extra few inches.
Bela sucked on her bottom lip as she took what Ruby had to throw her way, biting back the laugh. Did she really think she was belittling Bela? That she was hurting her pride? Ha. It was adorable... And truly pathetic. She was really hoping she was able to hold back the threat of a chuckle as the demon continued to run her mouth as though she knew better than the thief. Bela wasnât a newcomer to this world as Ruby seemed to assume, and that gave her the upper hand over the self-righteous demon. Bela knew all about the new leaders and the shifts of power, but Ruby wasnât aware that Bela was in the loop. She had done her research and sure she had aligned with Lucifer but why not? The fallen angel had promised power and rewards to aid Bela and all she was required to do was help him out some and pledge her allegiance. It was a better deal than she had ever been offered before and this time it didnât exactly risk her soul â well as far as Bela was aware, that was. All in all, Ruby underestimated Bela and that in itself was just peachy fine with the Brit. No thy enemy and all that. It was a shame Ruby knew fuck all about her opposition, wasnât it?
These thoughts were more than enough to lead her to realise she didnât need Ruby to succeed. The self-serving little twit had already helped her â of course this was unbeknownst to the black-eyed skank. She allowed the demon the courtesy of finishing off her final words as Bela chose a retort to fire back, âLikewise darling. Now if youâve quite finished I best be off.â She strode past the puffed up hot mess, giving her a passing glance as she strode by. A snort was all that resided from her past chuckle, âYouâll learn in time to regret this decision, you simpering child. Oh, and just an FYI..â She mocked the demon by leaning just a little closer to impart a word of advice and caution, â..Big mouths and small hearts arenât best company Ruby. Youâre nothing but a fool and youâll get yours soon enough, and this time.. youâll stay dead. Thatâs a guarantee, sweetie.â Now satisfied her point was made, Bela strolled toward her car to travel away from this crap-hole in style. She really didnât have the time to stand and argue with arrogance and that wasnât a bluff. She had work to do â that of her own and for her boss.

Better Than You Think | Balthazar & Bela
He liked her apartment, heâd been in it many a time without her knowing. Only to watch over her of course, nothing more. Though if she decided to take a shower and not bother to use a towel while drying off, well he couldnât help himself. He followed her willingly into the kitchen and watched her pull the wines out of the refrigerator. He smiled when she gave up on pronouncing the one red wine and chuckled to himself. âYou pick, Iâm not too particular about my wines.âÂ
He takes the wine glass she hands him and lounges against the counter, sipping whatever she handed him. It was a rich flavor that slid down his throat with a warm smoothness he was used to. He groaned in delight at the taste and tipped his glass to her. âGood choice, very delicious.â He stayed there, allowing his eyes to rake up and down her body, following every curve that her clothing accentuation perfectly.Â
âWhere too? Iâm assuming weâre not going to stand in the kitchen all night.â He winked as he said that, giving her his signature smirk. He looked wandered into the living area by himself, standing in front of the coffee table and bending down to see what she had there. A few books that werenât really about anything he was interested in, some coasters, and two remotes. One for the stereo and one for the tele. He stood straight again and turned to look around the room. A shelf with books, movies, CDs, more books, and magazines was next to the television stand on one side. On the other side of it was a tall speaker connected to the stereo and the TV. He looked to the sofa, a light brown colored suede coach, about 7 feet in length. It had a matching love seat the was next to the coffee table. There were also pictures and paintings lining the walls, none of which he recognized immediately, but he was sure they could be found in the books on her coffee table. All in all it was a very put together place, and his vesselâs mind was pleased. Balthazarâs was as well, it was very aesthetically pleasing, just like Bela. It suited her. And Balthazar being the narcissistic angel he was, he decided they both suited him quite nicely.Â
He shook his head at that thought. Again with the jumping ahead and thinking of her as more than someone he was protecting from harm. He couldnât let the feelings he had learned of, and acquired, since running away from Heaven get in the way. How was he to know if she would even return them if he did allow them. Itâs not like he could just ask. Doing that could earn a slap to the face and a boot to the arse. Neither of which he wanted, and he feared with Bela being who she is, it could be worse than just a slap and a boot. But even then, he wouldnât be able to protect her like he had been if she was angry with him. Sheâd notice him more often and just make things increasingly difficult.Â
He turned when he heard her behind him, smiling. âI like what youâve done here,â he motions to the gathering of photos she had on one wall, âit draws the eye in to the center one, since itâs the biggest. Very nice. Maybe Iâll have to ask you for decorating advice.â Â He winked at her and took a sip of his wine, looking at the photos more. There were about a dozen pictures on the wall between the living room and the kitchen, all of her family. There was a family portrait that was the biggest in the middle of them all. The rest were of each family member and of other random things they did, all scattered around the centerpiece. He smiled sadly, knowing the story behind her family. He decided to see if sheâd tell the story now, âWho are they?â
She chose the red. The rich scent collecting in the air by Belaâs nose as she uncorked the bottle. She handed a full glass to Balthazar and proceeded to fill her own. She tossed a glance his way as he inquired about whether or not they were to stay in the kitchen all night. His question was greeted with a shake of her head, âNo. By all means, make yourself comfortable..â Her hand gestured to the sitting area. She lifted her glass, and collected the wine bottle in her free hand for top ups. Then she sunk into her chair, kicking off her heels and tucking her feet underneath her to get comfortable. She watched Balthazar as he scanned her living quarters; a curious quirk to her own brow.
His questions about the pictures on the wall were expected. It was why they were up of course. A conversation point, when she and her guest werenât the subject of banter and picking apart. âThe older photos â the black and white ones, are of my grandparents.â She sipped her wine and lounged back more on the couch, âThe middle one is of me and my mother. I donât have any pictures of my father but I do have a painting of the whole family in storage.â She let her shoulders hunch up in a passive shrug. Personally she didnât mind questions about her family, she just wished the conversation didnât stay on the topic and fester. Her past was hers. She didnât even admit it to dean or Sam Winchester. She didnât need their sympathy and she certainly didnât need Balthazarâs.
She reached out to grab her remote and turned on the stereo. Something soft and applealing to the ear â to set the mood perhaps. Her glass was pushed onto the coffee table after it was finished and she turned her attention to Balthazar with a small smile that spelt trouble, âCome now. Thatâs enough about the past. Right now should be about the present Balthazar..â She pulled him down to sit next to her, her finger tips drawing patterns on his chest. Her hazel eyes were vibrant with lust and her free hand moved to her dress, after her shoulders rolled to free themselves from the straps. She proceeded to pull her dress down, revealing just the right amount of cleavage to still leave a little to the imagination. âWhatâs say we stop talking, and move onto something a little more.. physical?â A smile â that tapered the fine line of being either wicked or tantalizing, clung to her expression.
Non-romantic relationship you wish had been explored â Dean Winchester & Bela Talbot
She was resurrected, brought back without a cause or a notion of why. Who exactly she had to thank for this new lease on life she didnât have a clue, but now she was upright, walking and talking she quickly slipped back into old tricks. A girls gotta make a living somehow and starting from scratch was something Bela was going to have to deal with if she wanted to live the life she was used to.
Lucifer got in contact with her about an important job she was to help him with. Rings; Four of them. Stashed all round, in places of sentimentality by her old rival Dean Winchester. She took the archangel up on his job offer but not before laying out a few ground rules. Bela Talbot was a business woman, and she rarely (if ever) did anything out of the goodness of her little black heart. She agreed to help him but only if there was something in it for her. Lucifer told her with each ring he had in his possession, he could gift her with power and that in the meantime he would show her the path to gaining control and harnessing a darkness that had already started to manifest deep within.
Her quest started off well, and she found the first ring without a hitch. It was stashed where Lucifer had suggested; in a place of pain, sorrow and distress. It was the final resting place of Dean and Samâs half-brother Adam Milligan (well it was where the ghouls that eat him stuffed his body before his brothers gave him a good hunterâs send-off). She snatched pestilenceâs prized trinket and vamoosed from Windom before she was spotted, leaving Minnesota in her rear window and vowing not to return.
The second leg of her journey didnât go down as well as the first. Ruby, some arrogant little hell spawn with a smart-mouth had also been set on the trail of the rings and boy did she kick up a fuss when Bela presented herself as Satanâs wing-woman. Bela decided upon a plan. Gain the bitches trust and once she was in, rob the blonde when she wasnât looking. However, the demon was the clever sort, so perhaps swindling a demon was going to be a harder job than she was used to. Humans were easy. Evil soul-sucking whores of hell..not so much.
Once an alliance was made she returned to Lucifer with a progress report, handing the ring to Lucifer to gain her first taste of the fresh new power he had to offer her. He also let her in on a few secrets to speed along the process of her transgression to the âdark sideâ. He suggested becoming a sinner, indulging in iniquity, covetousness, debauchery â the whole 9 (or seven if were to use the deadly sins as metaphors). For bela Talbot, that would be easy. Up the ante with the theft, murder, sex and violence, a few extra blood rituals a week and taking up the dark arts and voilĂ , we got ourselves a winner!
However, her path was cut off before she could even begin. She got a package in the mail â well..quite a few actually. Plush toys and a not so plush sex toy arrived to stall her. Whoever was behind this was going to get the beating of a lifetime. She tracked him down. A southern guy named Ash, was responsible. She contemplated killing the son of a bitch but instead she decided to use him. The spirits had told her he was also one of the many resurrected and of course, he was associated with the Winchester morons. Figures. Instead of snuffing him out she decided to pump him for information as well as a little extra on the side. Hell, a girls gotta start her sex-capades somewhere.
Amidst her affair with Ash, she had also found another charming man who happened to take her fancy - Balthazar; an English gentleman who she invited back to her place for drinks. Little did she know, he was in actual fact an angel who had been watching her and protecting her from afar. Her keenness for Balthazar was a threat to the grand plan as he could have the potential to coax her to the path of light and veer away from her slippery slope that lead all the way back to hell and demon-hood.
Regardless now that she was well and truly back on the horse and had a little more Intel on dumb and dumbest, she decided to pay the boys a little visit when she was free and see just what they were up to. She came across no Winchester men but she did happen upon Samâs book of scratchings that read like riddles and spoke of Aethyrs and the resurrections of the dead. Before she could successfully bag it and skedaddle though another Winchester appeared with a gun to her head and a snotty attitude to boot. Mary Winchester, the boyâs mother. Momma bear had come to the rescue and boy was she pissed. Now with a Glock to her head and a hormonal Winchester demanding answers, how the hell as Bela going to Houdini her way out of this one?
