This sculpture of a Heath Hen stands in West Tisbury, Massachusetts. The sculpture was part of Todd McGrain’s Lost Birds Project. The Heath Hen was hunted to extinction in the wild by the 1870s. After the 1870s, the only Heath Hens left were on a reserve. The population boomed thanks to the reserve and went back up to nearly 2,000 individuals. However, the worst happened. A massive forest fire struck and by 1927, there were only 13 birds left. This statue stands where the last Heath Hen was ever seen. Booming Ben was last seen on March 11, 1932, near the airport on Martha’s Vineyard.

My plan

So I will try to take a photo in every settlement from Calgary to Savary Island (the very coast of British Columbia) by the way that’s more than 1,167.5 km, (15 minutes and 12 hours) so don’t blame me if I forget a place because I slept through it, Also we have to go very quickly/early to catch a ferry, then another ferry, and another, and another. I’ll try to take as many videos/photos of there…
