RimHUD shows skill levels even for babies, so it allows me to see that this < 2 year old baby has 'some familiarity' with firearms and 87% shooting accuracy.
I've been playing Bucky a little again, and I've remembered why I ended up suddenly losing interest in it before: The settlement currently has two adults taking care of two babies, three prisoners (Bucky's bloodbags), and ~18 livestock. This requires so much upkeep that the babies occasionally end up with malnutrition because they aren't getting fed quite often enough. Playing on the highest speed, about 10 minutes pass between every event that isn't Bucky and Panda frantically trying to maintain the status quo. But, as soon as even one of the babies grows into a child, that will relieve a lot of the pressure on them.
Oh. A big part of the reason for this: Moo was cloned off of modern Bucky, who's a sanguophage... but since there's no game mechanic way that babies can do all the sanguophage things, a lot of the genes are suppressed until they turn 3. Which means that all the genes that count as drawbacks, like 'needs to eat blood to survive', aren't being taken into account, and thus:
This kid gets hungry so fast that she permanently has malnutrition, because if I tell somebody to feed her around the point that her hunger bar is at 50%, she's literally starting to starve by the time that she finishes a bottle and it refills.
Actually, no, it's weirder than that. She's bugged so that her skin color (which is, in fact, the Sanguophage pale skin color) overrides all of the Sanguophage-specific genes.
She can't be a vampire because she's too pale. ... this is some kind of weird bug, because obviously skin color isn't supposed to override being able to drink blood, so lemme just use the dev tools and...

First of all, I don't think that's what he eats, and second, if Joe does want to eat a raccoon I'm sure he can figure it out himself.

Moo there has Bucky's genes... which means she's a vampire. Once she's a bit older, she'll need her own deathrest room and everything, which will be a bit of an expenditure. Also, of course, all the blood.
Due to a mix-up around insectoids burrowing into the prison cells just as some were being released, there's now a dazed zombie named Mushy wandering around inside the base. Not a prisoner anymore. Just some guy who's trapped in the base and nobody can let him out.
At some point the girls came into possession of a small herd of yaks, so now they're feeding all of the prisoners a diet of pure raw yak milk.
Attempt #2, which they can also afford at this point, works out, and produces
As you might figure out from the blue ears, she's actually a clone of Panda, not Bucky directly. Bucky donated her DNA to the stillborn baby, so she was still recovering when the time came to take samples for Bubbles here. Clone attempt #3 will be from Bucky again.
Bucky and Panda's new colony has progressed to the point where they can afford the hefty time and resource investment of growing a new clone, but...
They've named the dead baby Narda "Sparrow" Carlson, and I'm hoping to get her into a grave before somebody butchers her for food.
