He probably shouldn’t be outside at all. One, it was getting late. Two, he had a few fresh bruises on his chest from where he had taken quiet the beating. Outside was anywhere but he needed to be right now. Still, they were out of his favorite juice at the house so he went down the street to get some. He sat down on the nearest seat, chugging one of the cans of orange juice before throwing the can to the trashcan near him.

Maybe it was the dull pain messing up his aim, but instead of going into the trash the can knocks into someone’s arm before falling to the ground. “ah—- Sorry.”

{` the way he tried to rush through the inevitable flurry of snow that was sure to come with that next godforsaken gust of wind, he looked probably how most people on the streets looked at the moment. his coat drawn tight around his frame, golden locks whisking this way and that in the wind, dampened by the wet snow, cheeks a soft pink as they were slightly frostbitten. this damn snow was worse than the cold air of the autumn he had to suffer through. why His Highness sent him to sit up here of all places for such a menial task was beyond him but the payoff, His good graces, were starting to look small in comparison to all he had to suffer to earn it. back in Hell all he had to do was lay on his back. here it seemed too much like...work. he had just been about to start ranting aloud to the bitter cold when he felt something collide with him, his head snapping immediately to look at the object. his amber eyes caught sight of the can falling before being whisked away in the next breeze. naturally he looked for the culprit, one hand brushing at his jacket in case it had been stained. he didn't have to look far as the boy had spoken up himself. fixating his golden eyes upon the small boy, his brows furrowed together, annoyance clear in his voice. } Was it so hard to just go and simply toss it in the garbage? {` it was not directed at the other but rather just pent up irritability at the fact that he could not curl up in front of a fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine as he would be doing in Hell at that very moment. instead here he was taking public transportation and handling business directly. this was not how and archduke was to be treated. }

{` normally when he would have kept walking to mind his own business, the brisk winter air being something he was very unaccustomed to as Hell was much warmer than this surface but upon seeing the small boy, he couldn't have been nothing but a late teen, so winded and leaned back against the wall of the nearest building, Fenris' golden eyes simply locked onto him. how could that small boy have built up a sweat in such a cold like this? either he was extremely sick or he'd be exerting himself. the demon's eyes could see even from this distance the quick rise and fall of his chest. it was clearly the latter. but what was there to run from? how could you run in this weather at all? didn't he fear the ice? how reckless. the archduke's amber eyes swiveled every which way, hypersensitive hearing reaching out to perhaps hear where the perpetrators might be. maybe he could help get the boy to safety. }
