scndshoes:
he needed to be sure. his eyes were still glued to the walls, to the ceiling, to ever wire in-between, simply basking in the glorious serenity of the ship. whatever the source of her arrival had been, it wasn’t malevolent. or, at the very least, it wasn’t present with rose. with every step he was taking around, carefully inspecting the vibes and feeling how hope bloomed in his chest, there was a grin on his face that just kept growing, thawing as the rational wariness of a time lord began to cave in.
“yes,” he breathed out, his eyes glimmering when they finally moved from the TARDIS and onto her figure. “it’s good. it’s very good.” and as it seemed both of them were finally letting go of the cold caution, he knew his humanity had completely taken over. rose tyler. rose tyler! his rose tyler was right there, saying she’d missed him, no doubt at least as he had missed her. “oh, i know. ‘cause i did too. —- miss you, that is. not miss me. but i imagine i’d miss me too.” his attempts to humorously cover up his bursting excitement were futile, as he ended up immediately launching himself forward and locking his arms around her.
By the time he’d gone to hug her, she’d already been doing the same collapsing completely into the embrace without even a moments thought; hope had taken over and while she should’ve been questioning herself, trying to figure out why she wasn’t in her world...she wouldn’t almost didn’t want to at this rate.
Pulling away after a moment, the smile never faltered “You haven’t changed much..” she directed to both his characteristics but more so the fact that he was still her Doctor, not a new face...-then again she wasn’t sure how long it’d been for him...maybe that was the trouble with time travel.
